Why do high level men's players dive like they do? You know, the thing that looks like the worm...

International players and good college players all have a distinctive dive, and I want someone to explain it clearly for 10 points.

(don't just say so they land on their chests)

I will try to explain this.

After playing the ball, the player should put out their hands. They will put their hands on the ground. The body should form a C shape or U shape depending on which way you look at it. Puff your chest out or bring back your head and legs. With your hands on the ground, it is really like a push up. You will let yourself down slowly on your chest. Then, you will lower your legs and push up hard with your hands in order to get back up and in the rest of the play.

They dive like that cause they get to the ball faster, the worm shape allows them no to plaster there bodies all over the floor.
