You should use FTP to upload your pages, since its much easier. SmartFTP is the best i've seen, See: http://www.smartftp.com/ usually the FTP login and password will be listed in the mail you received when signing up.
For SmartFTP, simply entering YourDomain.com as host in the server section, and as the login in the login section togetter with the password, should be enough in most cases.
Since you now brought your own domain name, you may want to consider learning the standards. The World Wide Web Consortium (W3C) - http://www.w3c.org/ defines the standard, togetter with browser developers and webdesigners.
Learning (X')html and CSS would be to prefer, and do not resort to WYSIWYG editors. Hand coding is very important when making sure your pages are as accessible as possible, See also: http://www.w3.org/TR/WCAG10/ - Web Content Accessibility Guidelines 1.0

The above it good, but if you have IE, you already have an FTP client...you just use
ftp:// like
ftp://ftp.mysite.com or ftp://www.mysite.com
Duh.
