Would credit in the U.S. be valuable to Brits?

With real estate values in the US hotspots at hisoric lows, and the Pound Sterling and Euro at historic highs against the dollar, would Brits find it valuable to have a U.S. credit file established?

Certainly there are an ever increasing number of Brits investing abroad because house prices are astronomical in the UK. Even a pokey two bed flat will cost upwards of £100,000.

If you want a detached house think £200,000 as the starting point.

The most popular areas at the minute seem to be in Eastern Europe, countries that are just joining the EU, where property is a quarter of the UK cost.

I am quite sure that investing in the USA would make good sense to many people as it is easier to understand a culture that has almost the same language.

Obviously with the credit crunch you would need to appeal to investors who were seeking to leverage already substantial assets, but there are plenty of them around.

There must be at least a dozen different TV series dealing with investing overseas so it is a prime niche to justify that sort of exposure.
