Your best bet is to deposit all your North Korean money into an account for which you have a Visa/ Mastercard debit or credit card.

If you can not do that, before you leave North Korea, exchange the Won for USD with locals on the steps of any of the major banks in N. Korea. Then bring your USD to BKK and exchange again when you get here.

You will probably end up with about 70% of the value of the Won because that currency is very weak, and even exchanging for USD in NKorea you will not get as much as you should.

If it were me, I would simply spend all my N Korean money, come to BKK and use ATM machines here to do my monetary transactions.

There are only two differences: 1. Kim Jong Il can NOT read minds - you have the freedom of thought at least. 2. In North Korea you will attain absolute freedom by dying one day - this is NOT possible in Heaven. Therefore, North Korea is BETTER than Heaven BUT will fundie agree? Not likely - far too much FEAR involved. Fundie says it loves its Dear Leader but everyone knows that love under duress is only, and always, FEAR. Duress? Suck up to ME or I'll send you to Hell. That's duress and or the ultimate Stockholm Syndrome. ~

I seriously doubt it, North Korean currency is considered a "soft" currency and is not traded internationally. If you're going to be in N. Korea, get rid of it before you leave.

Just check the wesite of thai Banks. If they display the conversion rates for your currency, then they will for sure exchange.

No, the NK currency is not traded outside NK and cannot be used outside NK.

NK banks do not issue credit or ATM cards that can be used outside NK, so spend all your NK currency before you leave that country or exchange it into USD although this has to be done on the black market.
