Who are your favorite audiobook narrators?

Do you have recommendations? I really like David Case, Prunella Scales, Jonathan Cecil, who are British. Are there also good American narrators? Usually they sound flat to me. P.S. I'm American.

Jim Dale. He narrates the American versions of the Harry Potter books. However, he is British. It's basically a known fact that British people talke cooler than Americans (I'm American aswell).

He won a grammy for his reading of the 4th book I believe. What I love about him is that he does different voices for each of the characters. He set a record for the 5th audio book, doing nearly 200 different character voices. Very impressive :)

I don't recommend John Steinbeck. I tried to listen to Steinbeck read The Grapes of Wrath on tape. Man, he made me fall asleep so many times! I just found it faster to read the book.

But I have a friend who heard The Kite Runner read by Hosseini and she said he was really entertaining to hear.
