My 1 mo. old daughter seems to be slobbering????

Is she teething or is she really slobbering? My doctor said one month old babies don't slobber? So, what could it be?

our daughter drooled/slobbered from the time she was a month old and still does at 10 months.

Everyone told me she was teething but her first tooth didnt come in until she was 8 months old.

My pediatrician told me that babies just drool and it has nothing to do with teething, that you'll see an increase when they are teething but drooling doesnt mean teething.

    Definately teething. Try:

    1. Put a mini bagel in the freezer and let her chew (you might need to hold it)

    2. Invest in a few good teething rings that will go in the freezer

    3. Ora-gel to numb the pain...but just a VERY small amount

    4. Tylenol for the pain because it`s only a matter of time before the discomfort will start

    5. Preventative care for diaper rash...all that saliva will cause loose BM for sure.

... MOM, keep your cool....this is only the beginning, master your techniques early and you`ll be just fine.

my baby is 1 month old and he is slobbering. he actually drools when he sleeps sometimes. i was told that if the baby was teething then he would be chewing on things also. she also would be in pain. tell the pediatrician. I'm going to also.

Everyone produces saliva which helps with digestion, but babies don't usually produce much until their bodies are getting ready to eat solid food. Early slobber is related to digestion though it is often attributed to teething. If your daughter is slobbering, it does not mean that she is ready for solid food. Her digestive system is much too immature and you should wait until she is 6 months old.

Children can start teething at anytime and that could be the cause. But if you see and feel that there are no teeth coming through in the next week I would see my Dr again about it.
