What does Pri Master not detected mean? Does it mean the hard drive has crashed?
When I turn on the computer it looks like it is going to boot up but then I get this error message and then a second message saying the same about the pri slave.

For some reason your system is not recognizing the Hard Drive. Could be it crashed, or your operating system is corrupted. Get a boot disk and run it and see if your disk is recognized in DOS mode. If it is, you might have to reformat and reload your O/S. If it's not in there, crashed.

Another possibility could be that your CMOS battery is dying. This little round battery supplies power to keep BIOS settings intact. The BIOS stores information such as the configurations of your hard drives and CD-ROM drives. If this battery is dead, it loses that information and booting problems can occur. Try testing or replacing the battery if the hard drive sounds normal and is powered up.
