Can I suspend a hammock from two brick walls?

I have a balcony off my bedroom, and there are brick walls on two of the sides. I'd like to suspend a hammock between the two - is this possible? I feel like the brick wouldn't take the weight, especially of a two-person hammock.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

First make sure it is not a facade fake brick if so no problem just find the studs using a stud finder and lag bolt a eyelet to the structure low as possible and hang the hammock. if it is a true brick wall just use a masonry drill and expansion eyelet and party on!

If the brick walls are structural it should not be a problem, however if they are just for looks then the weight may actually pull the brick wall down. You never know how a brick veneer wall has been attached. If it is veneer, you have to locate the studs in the wall behind the brick and drill through the brick and use long screws right into the studs.

You would need to drill through a brick on each side and install an eye bolt with an expanding anchor. Wing type. Depends what is behind the brick as to if the wings will expand correctly. Good chance you will crack the brick also.

I do not recommend it, as mentioned a hammock stand would be best.

If it is a single thickness brick partition between balconies it could be a little flimsy for the weight.

If the owner s/ its OK, look into renting a "Hilti" hammerdrill & the kit used to set Hilti epoxy anchors.

They are used in renovations & construction when there is "questionable" masonry that must support heavy loads

You will not have to drill all the way through the brick & they will hold tremendous loads( if the walls are up to it.)

Used them often in previous work, & Hilti will advise on best anchor for the application & maybe even steer you away from the job if it does not appear to be safe.

    Best regards

Why not get a pipe frame that is free standing? This is very common here in California. This is a pipe frame that looks like two pipes with a loop on each end that curve upward to support the hammock. Good Luck

You can fix expansion bolts into each wall and then hang the hammock off these. If the walls are good, they will take the weight.
