If I stop charging an ipod mini, will all the material on it be erased?

I'm using a newer ipod and am neglecting the ipod mini. If I don't keep it charged, will all the songs stay on there if I decide to charge it again?

No it won't get erased. The ipod has a disk, which maintains data without power. You only need power to read or write from it, but once it's there, it says. When you charge again, you will be once again able to get your songs.

The charging process powers your amplifier, controls and microprocessors for the IPOD. If you have a nano or a mini it retains it's memory from a charge from the capacitors. The capacitors get it's charge from your battery. Don't worry because these capacitors don't fail. It will retain the info on your IPOD.
