    Black stool = blood

So yes, I would say there's something wrong. Call your doctor.

This is one of the least effective methods of birth control you could use and your partner should have found that out before he began making nasty accusations. Tell him to talk to a medical professional about the chances of this method failing and then, if he still thinks you cheated on him, arrange for the dna test..and bear in mind that once that test is carried out out will never forgive him for wanting it and if the child ever finds out, neither will he or she. If the simple truth is that your partner does not want to be a father any more than he wants to take responsibility for making sure that the birth control he uses is reliable, then you are onto a loser and may as well let him walk now because an idiot like that will be of little or no use to you in the long run.

As far as loose stool, thats normal, I would say your body is preparing for labor, but black stool means blood. Call your doctor immediately.

Sometimes your body has to do a final cleanse, Or if you take iron products that will do it, Iron doesn't always constipate. it has never constipated me, But loose stools I did get, Actually loose is okay, as long as it doesn't contain blood, So you are good, But still ask the doc.

Diarrhea can be a sign of the first stage or labor. I would give your doula a call (if you have one), if you don't have a doula I would call your doctor and ask. It could just be something that you ate, but it is one of the more common signs of the first stage or labor as well.

If you are having contractions, cramps, a warm sensation in your stomach, backache or bloody show then you are most likely in the early stages of labor.

Even if you aren't I would still give your doctor a call, just to let him/her know.

It could be the iron tablets that you are taking. How long have your stools been loose? If you are overly concerned check with your OB.

Also do you have abdominal pains?

    Good luck!

I it is black like tar, it can be blood. Not likely though unless you have a history of that. My guess is that it's your vitamins - maybe an overload on the iron. Ask your Doctor about it.

It could also be something you are eating - maybe an unusual crave food?

  • Are you taking an iron supplement? If not, try to list all food ingested as well as any meds and call Dr.'s office to ask what they think. Usually there's a nurse to give a preliminary opinion. Good luck.

All sorts of things can cause black-stools e.g. iron tablets, red wine, pepto-bismal - if you have ingested any of these recently then they will probably be the cause. However even if you have ingested any of these lately then see you doctor anyway just to put your mind at rest.
