Whay can't I connect to x-box live?
I've plugged my laptop into my x-box via the network cable. The laptop is connected to the internet via a wireless router, but when I test connection, it fails the IP address test.
It says the console is unable to negotiate a lease with the DHCP server. Make sure the address is available on my server. What does this mean?
What do I need to do to fix the problem?
I used to have a different laptop, and that was able to connect without any problems. I also have a new housemate who may have done something to the configuration of the router
The router is in another room downstairs, so I can't connect directly to the router with a network cable

Why are you plugging into the laptop when you have a router? XBOX 360 has a network adapter you can buy and come directly off of the router. Much faster and easier.
