There are a lot of stories in the Bible that can make you a better person.

One that comes to mind is the Prodigal Son.

You just have to use our common sense and remember why these stories were written in the first place.

    Yes, it can be.

Start at James chapter 1 verse 5. That is how one can gain wisdom when one runs out of options.

How about the concept of honesty towards all? That's one of the Ten Commandments and that's in the Bible.

How about how proper husbands ought to feel towards their wives? Look at Ephesians chapter 5 verse 25.

How about how to treat others in general, as in how to be a good neighbor? Look at the parable of the Good Samaritan, Luke chapter 10 verses 25 through 37.

I know that there are many other jewels of wisdom in there. But a person must be willing to dig and mine for said jewels. Otherwise, a person would be complaining about being dirty and dusty and lose sight of what he or she is looking for.

    Hope this enlightens you.

    Sincerely,

    Alvin R.

absolutely! without a doubt. the bible is a handbook for life. full of examples of what people did and the results that happened. my grandfather would always tell me that a man learns from his mistakes but a wise man learns from the mistakes of others. the bible is full of stories about choices people made in life. years have passed but people are basically still the same. old testament: jacob favored his son joseph more than his other sons and joseph's brothers turned against him. lesson: treat your children equally. new testament: peter denied knowing jesus 3 times yet after jesus' resurrection peter was one of the foremost leaders in spreading christianity thru out the region. lesson: god forgives us and can use us to spread his word no matter what our past is. you must remember that the glass is half full at the same time it is half empty. you can see the bible either way but you will get the most out of it if you read its books and not just its verses. just a thought...

Of course. My reasons? It says, 'thou shalt not steal' and I don't. This is a positive thing. There are many areas of ones life that, if applied, the bible (God's Word) can have wonderful results.

    Yes.

Because the bible covers it all. There is not one thing that can arise that you can not find the answer for in the bible.

All things work for the good to them that love God, and to those who are the called, according to his purpose.

Sometimes the positive end is only obvious in the longer term.

Yes - quite frankly because in 43 years of life, it has never steered me wrong and God has ALWAYS proved it to be true OVER and OVER and OVER again!

    Peace dear one!

SOME YES, AND SOME NO.... Have you read it? I wouldn't follow such a thing!

All I see is murder, and killings... such hatred!
