People of faith, can you stop feeding the trolls? The room is full of them because they get what they want!?

As long as people continue to reward rude and obnoxious questions with lenghty epistles as answers, the trolls will stay and multiply. Ignore the trolls and they will go somewhere else.

Are you really sure about that. I mean in society some have said there is no such thing as a stupid question. What if the person really, really did want an answer to a question that has been on their minds. I mean asking question and answering questions is what this site was started for.

Who was using lengthy and considered answers? I just cut and paste Swedenborg's doctrine:

"All who acknowledge and worship any other God than the Lord the Savior, Jesus Christ, who is Jehovah God Himself in human form, sin against this first commandment. Those also sin against it who persuade themselves of the actual existence of three Divine persons from eternity. For as they confirm themselves in that error, they become more and more natural and corporeal, and at length are unable to comprehend interiorly any Divine truth; and if they listen to it and accept it, they still defile it and cover it up with fallacies. They may therefore be compared to those who dwell in the lowest story or the cellar of a house, and in consequence hear nothing of the conversation of those who are in the second and third stories, because the floor above their heads keeps the sound from penetrating to them. [2] The human mind is like a house of three stories, in the lowest of which are those who have confirmed themselves in favor of three Gods from eternity, while in the second and third stories are those who acknowledge and believe in one God under a visible human form, and that the Lord God the Savior is He" (True Christian Religion n. 296).

But "we don't" is troll food just as much as an impassioned apologetic. It still adds to the answer tally. The proper approach is a complete boycott. (What if they asked a question and it got zero answers?) But unfortunately there will be fellow trolls, Catholics with poor impulse control and even helpful defenders from other faiths, all chiming in. The troll still gets fed. All one can do is promise to answer only questions that are serious inquiries. It may seem like a failure to defend the faith, but exactly how many hearts and minds would one be winning here? Stick to meaningful questions, do not rise to bait, and assume that people can tell when a bigot has the podium.

Amen sister... I agree with you, but I cannot resist sometimes. The need to educate is just tooo great.

I agree. Ignore them, and they'll go elsewhere for attention (like polls&surveys)!

sadly, most people here aren't smart enough to realize when a question is sarcastic or poking fun.

    just goes to show you...

Okay. Can we get them to go to politics?

There is no love or compassion in your question. Just hatred. Name calling is not nice. Where does your question exhibit that you really are a "person of faith"?
