How did Daniel be able to foretell correctly The Europe that exists today?

I mean he lived 500 years before Christ, so how did he predict, the changing of the guard, from 1 regime to another, down to today where we are have Roman ideas raging through our societies (from laws to religion to the fact that nations cannot work consistantly together Dan 2:41-43)

God told him. God is not limited by time. God created time, along with a number of other fascinating rules of the universe.

So, since God created time, he's not limited by it. He knows what's happ'nin now, happ'nin later and what's never happ'nin.

So, that's someone worth listening to. Because it's sure no one else knows wha's happ'nin these days!

rt66.. is mistaken. Daniel was written long before Maccabee came along. It was written from Babylon and Medo-Persia, translated into Greek when the Greeks came along afterward. But, that doesn't answer the question of how Danny knew about the Roman empire, it's subsequent crumbling and yet later continuance and sustainment as an Iron/clay federation, which is what the question pertains to. Greek was not the last empire described by Danny. Not only that, but there has been no world empire since to supercede the broken up Roman Emp, which is also detailed by Dan.

It's all "allegory" in both "covenants": Galatians 4.

Daniel notably had "night visions" (night mares),

from reading a book (Moses' Law: Gen-Deut).

He was finally told shut up and seal it,

till "the time of the end", the end of law.

Christ: is the end of the law: Rom 10:4.

It's also a "mystery", noted over 20 times.

    Alternate Non-Reality 1: OT Law: beginning = fear(torment)

    Alternate Non-Reality 2: NT Law: beginning = sorrows(grief)

Reality: NT Grace: No law = no sin and death: none perish

People in Alternate Non-Reality 2 are currently speaking at the Virginia Tech Shootings memorial, saying they wish they could awake from this night mare. Paul notably called evil concupiscence and noted the source: "another law": Rom 7.

The GRACE of our Lord Jesus Christ with you all. Amen.

Source(s): Seek and ye shall find "law worketh wrath" is destructive. Seek and ye shall find "grace is sufficient" is constructive.

He didn't. Daniel was written about the Maccabean Era.

The kingdoms are: the Babylonian, Median, Persian, and Greek. The declining strength of the Greeks refers to the Seleucids and the Ptolemies who would fight over Palestine. The Maccabees would revolt against the Hellenizing Seleucids (under Antiochus Ephiphanes) returning Israel to independence. Check out I Maccabees in the so-called "Apocrypha" for more details.

Actually, Tek R is mistaken. We discussed this book quite a bit in my Old Testament class. Daniel was written after the fact (as were many of the Prophets of the Old Testament). The "King of the North" invades the "King of the South" that Hal Lindsey used to like to claim was a Soviet invasion of Irael was the Seleucid's invasion of Palestine, then held by the Ptolemies. A lot has been written by scholars about Daniel, I would recommend reading some of it. Daniel has nothing about the Roman Empire in it.

God knows everything past, present and future. And, as it says in Amos 3:7, "Surely the Lord God will do nothing, but he revealeth his secret unto his servants the prophets."

it's easy after the fact to match old, vague predictions with the doings of any era.
