need help dealing with a ear infection for a three year old?

I am up with my son who has a bad ear infection, the hospital had said to just bring him to the doctors in the morning, but my son is crying and can not sleep due to the pain from his ear, I have given him advil, it has not seemed to work does anyone know good home remadies that is safe and works fast really need good advice and fast thank you all in advanced

 ARE A WARM WASH CLOTH

 AND IF THE DOES NOT WORK A HOT WATER BOTTLE FILLED UP WITH ICE WATER

ARE A ICE PACK WRAPPED UP IN A TOWEL
 
ALSO ROCK HIM TOO HOLD HIM CLOSE TO YOU 
YOUR BODY HEAT HELPS TOO

WRAP HIM UP IN A BLANKET WITH YOU AND YOU CAN PUT IT IN THE DRYER TOO GET IT WARM ARE HOT 

ARE PUT A TOWEL IN THE DRYER GET IT WARM ARE HOT AND WRAP HIM IN IT OK

PS ALSO ASK HIS DOCTOR TOMORROW IF HE HAS A INTER OUTER EAR INFECTION ?

THE REASON I SAID ASK ABOUT THE INTER OUTER EAR INFECTION IS BECAUSE I HAVE ONE AND I AM 34
MY MOM WAS UP WITH ME TOO UNTIL SHE HAD 

ENOUGH AND TOOK ME TO THE DOCTOR TOO I GOT 2 SHOTS EAR DROPS AND PAIN DROPS TOO 
ALSO KEEP AND EYE ON THE ONE TONGUE FOR THRUSH FROM ANTIBIOTIC'S OK

I AM ON MEDICINE FOR THAT TOO BUT MY ASTHMA PUFFER HAD SOMETHING TO DO WITH IT TOO OK

Just have to give the advil time to work 30-40 minutes.  Don't know what else to tell you. Sorry!  Ask dr for Rx for ear numbing drops in morning so you can have them on hand for future.  Can't put them in ear if eardrum ruptures (leaking reddish fluid) as they aren't sterile.  Warm washcloth applied to ear might be soothing. Good luck.

Tylenol [childrens or infants] liquid helps
I have a 3 year old sister and it helps her.
Put a warm or hot wet towel on his forehead as he lays down, it will help him sleep and will help 

Something that really works,
= Clean his ears with a Q-Tip [gently as in tickling it sort of] and it will help him fall asleep also light blowing in his ear.

try a warm water bottle against the ear this helped ease the pain for my children

Try using your blow dryer on his ear..the warm air (and the noise) might help calm him down...
