Does gears of war live up to the hype?
if i only buy one game in the next 3 months, should this be it?

This depends on what your looking for in a game.
If you like playing campaign by yourself or on line co-op over and over again it's a great game. That's not sarcasm, it really is lots of fun.
But the on line multiplayer is limited to 4 players per team and gets boring in my opinion.
So if your looking to play on line alot with alot of people I would go after Halo 2 or Call of Duty 3.
Halo 3 will not be releaed until at least November 2007.

Lots and Lots and Lots of blood. The combat is close all the time. not like halo where there are open areas.
Graphics are awesome.
Get it now if halo 3 isn't out in the next three months. Otherwise wait for halo.

It isn't amazing, it is alright. But it is the best out on the market. Online play is OKAY, but I think the best is story mode, playing co-op with a friend is awesome. Playing by yourself gets boring really quickly, but yeah, I recommend it.
