  • Dog conflict who is in the wrong?

Today I watched a woman kick a dog because she felt the owner was not doing enough to stop his dog from interacting with hers. Problem was that when the man tried to grab his dog her foot was about to hit the dog. He jump up and pushed her aside and told her do not push my #$%^^& dog. She was getting mad because the man's dog was jumping and pushing off with two legs with her dogs. He was trying to get them to play. What made it worse for the gentleman was that the woman get moving, and her excited dogs attracted his dog. Instead of trying to kick the dog should the woman just stayed put until the man got his dog. The man yelled at her if you do not want your dogs mingling with other dogs then do not come to a dog park

  • 5***** What was the funniest thing your dog did this past week?

It has to be something spontaneous. Mine was scared by crow's feather. She would not go near or walk past it. When I tried to show her it was harmless she freaked out. But, by the end of the day she went looking for it.

    please keep it brief

  • Should I get another dog?

My dog is only 1 yr old and has been sick since I got her The vets did a good job of scarring the crap out of me saying she might have all these weird diseases. She has two bad hips which cause her pain. She had stomach issues but we finally found the correct food. She is my first dog, so it has been very over whelming, but fun seeing how she has improved in her health and behaviour.

I bought my dog with the idea that I may get another one to keep her company. Her hips are hurting her so we are on reduced walks, so she is bored and frustrated with pain. Not a fun combination to deal with. I am just wondering if it would be fair to the other dog(same breed), or fair to my dog.

  • why does yahoo send you violations for questions that you posted months ago and have been resolved?

I got about for violations today for questions that were written 4-5 months ago and were resolved.

    What is the point?

One of my questions was Has anybody seen Hank> It is a Waterboys song. I was trying to see if anybody recognized the song.

Yet it is ok to inquire where dog fighting is legal because one is interested in participating in it.

And I got rejected for asking men and women what do they prefer real or fake breasts. I was not trying to insult those women with implants.

But inquiring about seeing dogs fight on purpose is ok.

  • When do you step in tp prevent dog conflicts?

I know it is important for dogs to work things out on their own. But I am confused as to when you intercede before a fight breaks out. I go to two different dog parks. One is very anal and if your dog barks the owners get upset. At the other, dog fights breakout, and the owners do not reprimand them at all.

Their is a dog trainer that goes to the second park. I asked her and she was evasive> then she mentions the dog that is the same breed as mine. He was and still can be aggressive. She said look at him he is doing fine. He started a fight and got bitten. This dog goes out of its way at times to stir-up trouble.

PLEASE READ THE QUESTION I AM NOT ASKING YOU TO COMMENT ON THE EXAMPLES I AM ASKING YOU TO HELP BETTER UNDERSTAND WHEN I SHOULD INTERVENE

  • Who is at fault dog or human?

I know I am responsible for my dog's actions. I have been teaching to walk off leash. I took him out one early one morning at an off leash park. I have a leash attached to him, so that people can step on it if he takes off an bothers them. Well this happen with a woman with a small dog. My dog took off and I ran quite far. The woman did not know how to tell a dog to go away properly, and she felt threatenned that my small dog was being aggressive towards her small dog. I asked her repeatedly to step on the leash so I can catch-up and get my dog, so we could get on with my day. Instead she picks -up her dog. This causes my dog to jump -up and follow her in a more excited state. Again, I asked for her to step on the leash. This week she tells me that my dog bit her and left a bruise on her hand. I told her that you ignored my, and my dog nipped you by mistake because he did while she picked-up her dog. The whole incident could have been averted if she just had listen. My dog is not aggressive.

Another example is that a trainer walks to abused dogs that one cannot pet. She tells people immediately not to pet them as they will bite. So, if someone pets those dogs it is really their fault for not listenning to the owner

  • do you think it is fair to get another dog when?

your present dog is prone to infection. He lives to see other dogs, and getting another dog would help his insecurity and anxiety when I am not around. I am not sure it would be fair to the other dog to expose it to infections. My trainer thinks it is a good idea because my breed tends not to do well alone. But, I am not sure. It is just hard to decide at the moment as I found out that he may have something that could develop into a serious chronic condition. But, I think about His psychological happiness and I want to get another dog.

Any advice or ideas are welcome idiots are not

    Thanks

  • Don't you hate dog snobs?

Don't you hate it when you are walking your dog, and you see someone else with a dog coming towards you. Then they do not even let their dog you wants to interact with your dog. Then they wonder why they barkand act aggressive towards other dogs.

  • where do you you hit the dog with across the snout training?

My former trainer taught me this technique which I could not do because I cannot hit my dog. They showed me the beginning the strike at the top of the head. To me this seems odd considering it is across the snout training. And, I also believe you need to do it with a leash I am not sure. My dog was up snooping on a table and I did a lame *** attempt because I could not do it, and I told my trainer this. She then smacks him on the head so hrad that his lower jaw hits the table. My dog put a hole in my leather couch and I did not think of hitting him. So, smacking him on top of the head for being curious as to what is on a table is annoying but hardly merits a hit on the head-especiallywhen you have told your trainer that you cannot do this. I do not know why trainers do not respect youyr wishes. It was a bad experience.
