  • Filing and IRA contribution?

I'm filing my taxes and taking advantage of the IRA contribution deduction. Do I have to complete the deposit before I file, or is it ok as long as I complete it by the deadline (April 18th?)

  • Home Electrical issue.?

So I had the Cable guy out to fix my internet. He showed me a fried cable, telling me that there is voltage coming out of my house and that the cable which is grounded to the house burnt up. He resolved the issue buy replacing the part and not grounding it to the house. After this my electricity has been acting weird. My entertainment system shut down and would not turn back on, but would try. (Ex Id turn on the tv then Id turn on the xbox and both would shut off). I have an LED clock on the same outlet that is flickering. My Girlfriend, who was cooking breakfest said the microwave was as if it was on low. Any thoughts?

  • Do I have a serious electrical wiring issue?

I plugged in a computer to one of my outlets. I felt current passing through my band as I touched the case and held the monitor Connection and got a big spark when I tried to connect the monitor. This only happens on that outlet. I took the outlet out to see if the problem was obvious and heres what I saw. ) here's an image to help illustrate what i'm describing...

    http://completeelectrical.biz/wp-content/uploads/2...

There was no red wire (I know this is normal) but what I saw was the ground wire was not connected but present and there was a wire connecting the Common connectors to the ground connectors.

I've been using the outlet just fine for years and still am as it currently has my modem and router.

My question is, us this a serious problem that I need to address before I catch fire? Or, is this something that I can fix eventually?

Also, Is that wiring actually ok or does this sound like I have a bad wire in the wall?

I tried to remove the common-ground connection and hook up the ground wire in its place but the outlet no longer worked.

  • Solar panel, Home office and Tax write off?

I had installed over the summer a solar panel system on my house. Hers some infofor you:

    I live in MO

The system cost 25K (Rounded numbers)

The Rebate from the utility company was about 10K

The expected tax rebate will be about 5K

I have a home office from which I work and is 15% of my homes sq footage

    1. My question is though I am getting a basic tax rebate, should I be able to claim part of this off as an expense for my home office?

It seams logical since I used to deduct part of my electric bill and I there for should be able to write off part of this. I am, after all using electricity and getting a bill from the utility that is higher than it would be if I didn't have the office

    2. If so which amount should it be? T

he full 25K or something after the rebates.

  • Should I simmer my homemade salsa?

I've been making my own salsa lately and here is my recipe, it's pretty basic:

8 tomatos (Or 28oz can of peeled tomatos

    3 garlic cloves

    1 medium onion

    5 grilled hapenaros

    2 cerano

    half cup celantro

    1.5 teaspoon salt

    1 teaspoon black pepper

    1 tesapoon cumin

    splash of lime juice

    simmered for 40 minutes

Cool in fridge overnight (at least 8 hours)

My question is, should I simmer it? Speaking to other people who make their own salsa, they dont cook it. Online I find a small minority who do. My thinking is for 2 reasons. First, cooking is going to help release and mix the flavors, which is then hastened by cooling it in the fridge. Second, this kills any bacteria in the mix helping to preserve it. This recipe yelds about 40oz or 2.5 16oz jars. I go through it in a couple weeks and the last bit tastes as good as the 1st, so I feel that the preserving factor is important.

    What do you think?

  • How do you complain about a low speed limit?

Theres a street by my house where the speed limit is 35, and you are perfectly safe going 45. Now, I know this is common, but, there's cops sitting there 80% of the time who will pull you over for going 2 over. They are part of a small municipality in St. Louis called Bella Villa whos income is put on the backs of motorests driving down Bayless rd. I hate that If I invite friends over I have a disclamer as fallows: "The speed limit is 35, drive 30. Make sure that all your lights on your car work including liscense plate lights. Also make sure your tags are up to date. Maintain at least 2 car lengths between yours and the car your fallowing. If you are unable to meet any of these criteria take River City Blvd." I really say this. Still, some don't make it Its also a safty issue. I find myself driving down this road with my eyes on the speedometer 60% of the time glancing up at the road every second or so for just a fraction of a second. I HAVE almost rearended somebody.

So again, what has to be done to get a roads speed limit raised?

Or even better how do you disband a municipality?
