  • How should i break up with my long term boyfriend?

    Hi everyone,

I really need some advice regarding breaking up with my boyfriend. We have been together for two and a half years; i'm 19 and he's 21. We live about an hour away from eachother but it has never stop us from seeing eachother...

Basically, i've been thinking about our relationship for a long time, and i love him more like a brother than a boyfriend....even though that sounds really perverted!!! He is the best person in the world, he would do ANYTHING for me, he adores me, but i'm not sexually attracted to him and we both want different things out of life; i'm going to University in April to study nursing, i want to go travelling and make something of my life, while he's happy plodding along working at a fast food place and doing nothing with his life....his health is really bad- he is obese, has type 2 diabetes and has to take tablets and injects insulin...i don't want to spend the rest of my life with someone who is ill, does not control their diabetes well, and could have a stroke or heart attack!!!

Anyway, getting back to the point, i have decided that i'm going to end it with him in the next couple of weeks, but i'm really scared because he is extremely possessive and sensitive; i tried to end it with him at the early stage of our relationship and he cried and cried and begged me to stay with him.....so i did!!! I'm just wondering if anyone has been in this situation before-how did you do it? Where did you do it? (i don't want to do it at my house or his) What did you say? I really don't want to hurt him too much, i know i will but he is a lovely man and doesn't deserve pain, but i'm just not happy anymore . Thanks for any advice!

  • How will i get my inheritance?

Basically, to cut a long story short, my Grandma passed away in April last year. It was my Dad's Mum and i have never ever met my Dad; my Mum kicked him out because he was an alcoholic and used to be violent. I only saw my Grandma about 6 times in the whole 19 years of my life, but she always sent me birthday and christmas cards and presents and money and she always told me how much she loved me, it was like she was making up for the absence of my dad. About two weeks after she passed away, i received a voice mail message on my phone from my Aunt (who i have never met, and who is also an alcoholic) saying that my Grandma had left me two thousand pounds in her will, i got back in touch with her and she said that she was going to sort it out but it had to go through the solicitors or something. About 6 months passed and she text me to say "sorry you can't have your money because you are not 18 yet" i told i was 18 (which i was!) and she told me "oh sorry well your Dad said you were 17" well what the f**k would he know? he's never even met me! Anyway, i told her i was 18 and asked what was going to happen....she ignored me. I have texted and tried to call her but everything has been ignored. At first i didn't think i deserved it, but now i realise my Grandma left that for ME! It would be really useful because i'm going to University and stuff, and she's probably using it to pay off her debt or something! I was just wondering if anyone had been in this situation? And what they did to resolve it? Should i go to a solicitors or something? The problem is that i don't have her address, only her mobile number, is this going to cause problems? Thank-you for any advice.

  • Where shall i go on holiday in the Canary Islands?

Me and my boyfriend are looking at going on holiday in the canary islands in about six weeks, but we are unsure on where to go...we have never been to any of them before but are attracted by the scenery, beaches and temperatures. We are both in our early twenties, we want to go somewhere with lovely beaches, nice and relaxing but with a bit of nightlife and stuff to see and do. It would be great if it had a water park. Could anyone advise me on the different islands, and which you think would be the best for us? We were looking at Puerto Rico in Gran Caneria.

  • Veterinary Nursing or Adult Nursing?

    Hi guys!

I am in a little bit of a pickle. I am eighteen years old, i work in a NHS hospital as an auxiliary nurse and i am currently studying access to nursing part-time. I was looking at a jobs website a couple of days ago, and i saw a job for an animal care assistant; this bought memories flooding back from when i was younger, and reminded me how much i wanted to work with animals and be a Veterinary Nurse, but my family discouraged it and said it was a "dead end job". I did apply to go to college when i was sixteen to study Veterinary Nursing, but as i said, my family basically said no and i ended up doing an NVQ in health and social care. Anyway, getting to the point, i work in a hospital and i am not really enjoying my job; you get treated like c**p when you are a nurse, you have so much responsibility, and although i know you do too when you are a Veterinary nurse, i really love animals and i feel like i would actually enjoy my job if i was a VN and not be miserable all the time. I have applied to university to do Adult Nursing and i am really considering withdrawing my applications. All i want is some opinions; do you think i would be stupid to withdraw my university application and do Vet Nursing? Or does anyone work as a Vet Nurse and can give me some help?

  • What gym machines should a women use at the gym?

I started going to the gym today and i had no idea at all what machines to use. I'm a size 14(uk) and i want to get down to a size 10. I want to lose weight off my legs, arms and my tummy the most. Can anyone recommend what machines i should use and how long i should use them for every day? I would ask the staff at the gym but they all kind of seem ignorant and unapproachable! I do want to used weights because i've heard they're good for getting rid of body fat, but i don't want to end up with muscles like a man!

  • What is wrong with me :(!?!?

Hi, i'm an eighteen year old girl and i'm having problems. I work in a hospital as a nursing auxiliary and i'm hoping to train to be a registered nurse next year, but i am finding it so hard to communicate and socialize with people. I've had problems communicating and socializing with people for a long time, i'd say since i was about eleven (when i started secondary school). It is all getting too much for me, i see people i work with talking to each other and having a laugh and i think to myself...why can't i be like that? I am so one worded with people, i just feel like theres a barrier blocking me from being able to talk to people. I try and change myself but i'm so scared- and heres the thing, i'm fine talking to the patients but not the people i work with, granted the people i work with are all older than me, but i don't have a social life either! I am just sick of it, i wish i could change myself. Does anyone else have this kind of problem? I'm going to university next year and i think i'm not going to be able to cope. :(

  • How can i stop being so painfully shy?

I'm so shy that it's ruining my life. I have one friend who i hardly ever see, and i have a boyfriend who i completely depend on; he's like my safety blanket. I work in a hospital as a health care assistant and everyone who i work with have massive egos and personalities; i find it really hard to talk to them. When i'm at home i'm happy, chatty, smiling and then when i'm at work i feel paranoid, awkward and hopeless. I can't be myself around anyone.Im thinking about going to university in london next year to do my nursing degree and i really need to get over this awkward shyness.Does anyone have any tips? I'm desperate.

  • Could i be pregnant? Micronor.?

I take the birth control pill micronor. I started it over a month ago and i have just started my second packet. Before i was on micronor, i was taking microgynon and i suffered with really heavy periods; now all i've had is light pink/brown spotting for a couple of days. I did have an accident with my boyfriend; i took a pill because i had thrush and only found out a few days after taking it that i would not be protected while having sex. I just think its really strange because i had really heavy periods before, i mean REALLY heavy, and now...nothing? Has anyone else had this problem?
