  • Car insurance - UK

My provisonal license will be valid in 2 months when im 17 and once i take my driving test and pass it, i plan on getting a car.

The thing is that insurance will be quite high as i would have just passed my test and im only 17.

    My question is:

If i get the car and register it under my mums (or dads) name and put the insurance under their names would it be cheaper?

Bear in mind that my parents have about 16 years of no claims bonusus too,

    thanx xxx

  • The hook...?

I am working on a novel and want to know if the first paragraph of chapter 1, is enough to hook the reader.

    Thank you xXx

    Chapter 1: The Beginning

Early March 2008. At this point in my life, I was an ordinary teenage girl. 17 years old with no particular ambitions to work towards, no excitement and no adventure. Every morning, I would grit my teeth and stumble out off my soft, warm bed dreading the day ahead. Slowly I’d wonder down the well worn path to the ancient wreck of a building, in which I’d go to bury my head in some frayed, over used books. Each day, I longed for the elegant hands of the old Victorian clock to strike 4 so that I could drag my aching feet back down Mysc Avenue, returning to the cold and lonely place I called home..

I have editted the first paragraph and want to know your opinions on it. Thnx xx

    Chapter 1- The beginning.

I used to be an ordinary, teenage girl. 16 years old with no particular ambitions, no excitement and no adventure. Everyday I gritted my teeth as I stumbled out of bed. Slowly wandering down the well worn path towards the old wreck of a building, In which I went to burry my head in books.

I forever longed for the elegant hands of the old Elizabethan, clock to strike 4:30, so that I could stomp home after a agonizing day at college. Glaring at anyone who crossed my path, returning to the dark and lonely place I called home. I was never the most popular girl in school, but I had the brains. My family used to tell me that socialising didn’t matter at that moment in time. All that was important was my studies and that if I made it through exams, I could conquer the world. I know that they just said that to make me feel better. It never did. Nothing could take the pain away from being what people called “a loner”.

After an isolated day at college, I would come home, lock myself in my room and wait for dusk. The best part the day. Resting my head on my soft pillow, gazing at the blank ceiling. Reminiscing. Thinking about my future and how bleak it looked.

But little did I know that, that was all about to change…

  • My GSD......?

    Hi,

I have a nearly 8 month old German Shepherd Pup and this morning he started vomiting with some very watery diarreha and he's not eating. He's still having thoses problems now but not as much as it was this morning, he's much better now.

Im just woundering what may be the problem and what should give him to eat that will help the vomiting and the diarreha.

Please note that i havent taken him to the vets ONLY because im not concerned at this stage. Hes personality is still intact and is still bubbly.

If he is still bad by tomorrow i will be making an appointment A.S.A.P.

    Thank you.
