  • Would this be considered a ballad?

Could Rick Astley's "Never Gonna Give You Up" be considered a ballad? We have to bring one for English tomorrow and it would be epic. She never taught us what a ballad was so...hence the question.

  • Does this completely disgust anyone else?

    http://www.puppiesforsalebynet.com/poodle.htm?

I just stumbled across this website and I have to say I was completely revolted. Not only are they breeding "teacups", "tiny toys", and "tiny tiny toys", but they're smothering them with bows. And they say about three times on their page that "over 60 celebrities have bought puppies from us", as if that makes everything ok.

Poor dogs. Pulled out of their puppy mill cages, groomed, and thrust into teacups and then into hands of celebrities. It's not the only site out there like that either.

Legit: How did you discover/get interested in the breed you own today?

  • Did your pets enjoy Christmas?

Mine definitely did! Cricket loved her presents - three new toys, a bag of "Liver Biscotti" treats (Mmm!), a pretty new leash, and a big beef bone. If you want a way to keep a dog quiet, just hand them a big bone stuffed with Salmon Jerky filling. She worked on it all morning!

Here she is modeling her lovely new leash that "Santa" bought for her:

    And enjoying her new toys:

Though they got boring after a few hours!

Santa left another gift for her, as well! It was the funniest thing. I looked out the window this morning and there was a rabbit in the fenced-in dog yard! I had left the gate partway open. It would have been the perfect gift for a whippet, but I went down and chased the poor thing out! Santa's intentions may have been good, but I wasn't going to stand for the rabbit being ripped to pieces, of course.

    Oh, and here's Chinda:

He got a catnip mouse and a bag of treats, but does what a cat want most for Christmas? A nice place to sleep!

  • A few questions about yoga? ?

My friend invited me to her yoga class tonight, and I'm a little nervous. Is it hard? Does it take lots of practice, or can anyone do it? Am I going to make a fool out of myself? Sorry if this sounds a little silly, but I've never done yoga before.

  • Dog scratching after urinating/defecating?

I have a young dog around seven months old, a whippet, female, unaltered (she will be shown). After urinating or defecating, she often wildly scrapes the ground with her back paws. She doesn't do it every time, and she does it more often after defecating than urinating. She's done this for, I don't know, a month or two. I've heard male dogs doing this to mark their territory - is this what she's doing? There is one other dog in the house, a male collie, but I've never seen him doing the scraping thing.

One more question - sometimes when she urinates, she lifts her leg. Not like a male dog - she's still squatting, but one of her hind legs is lifted off the ground slightly. I've never seen a dog do this before. Is it normal?
