  • What can be done about a "Possible Underage Consumption" citation?

I am 19,was out drinking with my friends friday night and when I vomited outside of my dorm building, campus police were called.I go to court for this and I was wondering how I should go about it.I did not have any alcohol on me,was not given a breathlyzer, the nose touch test, the walking test and was not searched. Can I plead not guilty considering the lack of evidence? Considering this is my first offense ever, can I just get off with some community service? I'm in WV btw,I figure the state was important.

  • Were early LGBT rights advocates blacklisted?

I have always heard that those who supported black and white equality, along with intergration in the early stages of and during the Civil Rights Movement, along with those consipring for Women's Rights way back in the 20s were blacklisted. The way I see it,once LGBT civil rights advocates became vocal, they would have been considered as harmful as Elizabeth Cady Stanton or Malcolm X.Were early LGBT rights advocates blacklisted?

  • Should I see a mental health professional?

i'm 18,and starting college soon so i'll be om my own.For awhile now I go between moody, angry, and irritated to just a crippling melancholy state in which I just feel like death..I talked to a guy 3 times (first time he began dating another guy and stopped, second time he began dating a guy I DESPISED and broke up with then we started talking again a couple weeks ago.I snapchatted him last night,he opened it along with posted his own snap story, shared a post on facebook (I saw this morning) and everything else EXCEPT message me back...I really liked him and now it's making this crippling melancholy and hurt come back in threefold...All I want to do is cry and sleep but I was always taught a man shouldn't ever cry.I wanted to see a mental health doctor before but my mother wouldn't allow it (she believes mental illness reflects poor parenting).Should I go now that i'm 18 and going to be on my own soon?My great-grandmother and grandmother both suffered with depression and anxiety too if that means anything...thanks...

  • Are there political undertones in "Wicked"The musical?

I seen "Wicked" last year with my school in Cincinatti,Ohio and couldn't help but apply almost every element of "How To Read Literature Like A Professor" by Thomas C. Foster. From what I could see,the musical continued strong hints

of feminism, conservative republican (Glinda) vs.liberal democrat(Elphaba),racism against Elphaba, color symbolism in the clothing, flight=freedom, alluding to Nazi Germany with the propaganda and scapegoating, and the symbolism with weather (weather reflects emotion of masses, and Madam Morrible had power over weather).Am I just looking too deeply or are these political undertones actually evident in 'Wicked' the musical?

  • Should we change the name of our community?

I have noticed lately that the community is like LGBTQIA... and this is gettig ridiculous. Why not just use SAGA (Sexuality And Gender Acceptance)?I seen this on tumblr and fell in love with it.A saga is a long story of heroic achievement (our story,we have went from bar raids to fearing the person next to us had AIDS to marriage equality in most of the U.S.) and it's shorter than using every letter in the alphabet.Should we change the name of the our community? Why or why not?

  • Do I have anything to fear?

My cousin bought me some Confederate flag dice, and I was going to hang them in my car. However,my sister brought up a good point:Someone may vandalize my vehicle because of them, and even if I pressed charges they wouldn't stick because the Liberals would side with the criminal. Is this a valid worry(that my car could be violated and I wouldn't even be able to get legal justice because of Liberal justices that would side with the vandalizer)?

  • Could "white only" scholarships ever exist today?

When it comes to college,it seems like wealthier minorities are getting basically a free ride, while poor white kids (like myself) do not qualify for anything (even though we struggle to pay our bills,"we're white and have no need").My friend Abigail is black, her father is a doctor and her mother is a phlebotomist, both bring in a very nice income and yet she was able to go to college completely free on minority scholarships.I have been raised by my grandparents, grandmother is a Nurse aide in a nursing home and my grandfather is retired, yet I didn't qualify for any scholarships and had to take out over $9,500 in student loans for my first year.Should there be a scholarship for poor, white kids only?Could this ever survive before being challenged by a liberal apologist group in front of the Supreme Court?

  • How are untalented people getting so far on Broadway?

I always wondered this. There are thousands of talented people out there, however some with the talent of a rock are getting parts. My main example is Daphne Ruben-Vega:she was the original Mimi in "Rent" on Broadway.I watched old clips of her singing and dancing in that show, and wonder how she made it that far:the lady couldn't sing.Another example is (don't shoot me)...Idina Menzel..She's a fine actress but her singing is over-saturated with nasality and just comes off as quite annoying. How are people with terrible voices and limited acting skills making it to the stage when there are far more deserving people out there?

  • Is acting a good career for someone who knows the statistics?

I have read everything when it comes to acting (in a business sense):around 1-2 weeks paid acting per year, struggle, disappointment, and heartbreak:Actors must have thick skin.I know this, and it doesn't scare me.I know how it is to worry and struggle and to be disappointed over and over again.I am getting my degree, moving onto NYC and from there i'm praying for the best.Should I still pursue my dreams, knowing the statistics and reality of the business?I have already looked at backup careers, side careers, and overall creating a plan B.

  • Are relationships hard to maintain between two actors?

I know relationships in general are hard to maintain, but would it be hard for an actor to date another actor?I mean, you have the inevitable success of one and the failure of the other, which would undoubtedly cause resentment. You then have the scenarios in which your boyfriend/girlfriend is having a love scene with someone else and you must swallow the jealousy (it may be acting, but jealousy is bound to happen). Are relationships between two actors harder to maintain?

  • Is it appropriate for actors to..?

Is it appropriate for actors to draw on personal, painful expierences whilst doing a song if it calls for it?

For my theater program audition,I am doing "No Good Deed" from 'Wicked' and "Last Midnight" from 'Into The Woods' because both pieces carry a message I can relate to:being blamed and realizing nothing you ever do to help people works.I sang 'No Good Deed' for my music theater teacher (who was at one time a Broadway hopeful) and she said I have the vocals for that song but I sang it to angrily. She said the best way to sing it was from a 'broken' aspect, but I still do the song angrily (involuntarily) when I practice it,even growling the words at the end ("let all of Oz be agreed,i'm WICKED through and through"...).Is it appropriate for actors to draw from their expierences if it could help?

  • Who has been the best and worst Elpbaba in 'Wicked'?

In my own opinion, the best has been Eden Espinoza (with Stephanie J. Block and Alison Luff coming in close) and...don't shoot me but...I believe Idina Menzel has been the worst...She just has too much nasality for me..

  • Am I transphobic?

I'm a gay male, and I would never date a trans girl...I would totally date a trans guy (I mean..have you seen how hot some of them are?!) but I would never date someone who is a male on the outside and female on the inside, because they're really female when it boils down to it... I prefer males (whether cis or trans).I told my friend this and she said I was being transphobic..Am I transphobic?

  • Is it right for me to encourage my sister..?

My sister wants to be a beautician, and she adores Madam C.J. Walker.Thing is,my sister and I are white and when my grandfather found out his granddaughter looked up to an african-american,he exploded at her, telling her Walker was not meant to be a role model for white women.I keep ensuring it that it's okay for her to have african-american role models (i'm a guy and my role modela are Marilyn Monroe and Evita Peron).Anyways,am I right for encouraging my sister?Walker is pretty much her role model, and this is 2015.When it comes to role models (or anything) the color of skin doesn't matter.

  • Can what we preach be considered propoganda?

I'm a gay male and I was going over my sister's homework on propoganda.Every example had a really sweet-sounding message,a statistic or two,and overall seemed great even though it carried alot of hidden elements with it.I looked at an advertisment taught to children in Nazi-Germany and it talked about how "one mental hospital can take funding and land from up to ten working people who contribute to society".At the surface this sounds good, but when you look at what happened to the "mentally feeble" later,it was not good at all.I see things like "No H8","Love is Love",etc and I was just wondering if this could constitute as propoganda.I'm not trying to sound homophobic,I am just curious.

  • Why am I always called racist?

I'm a gay guy,but i'm not attracted to alot of african-american males...Some I am,but alot i'm not attracted to.I find african-american women very beautiful, but not sexually attracted to them nor would I date them (that's what 'gay' is all about).I get hit on by many black guys on meetme, but I just tell them i'm not all that attracted to them and they immediately call me a "cracker racist" when all i've done is tell them the truth.Out of 10 black guys,I will probably find 4 attractive.I'm just not all that attracted to them and i'm not going to waste their time,or mine when there is nothing for me to say.Why am I called racist?I have nothing against black people,I just don't find too many of the men attractive...You can't force attraction, that's what the whole gay rights movement has been preaching for over 40 years..
