  • What Arabic nouns begin with ي?

I'm doing an alphabet book project for school but I can't find many nouns that begin with ي. Only word I've got so far is يَـراع and it's not really what I was hoping for. I can't start the actual hard work (drawing and filling out the book pages) until I get some more nouns and it's SUPER frustrating. Any ideas?

  • Women's rights gained through protest or civil disobedience?

Hi. I'm writing an essay and while I have plenty of unsuccessful examples of women's rights protests, I'm having a very difficult time finding ones that brought the women protesting anything.

I'm willing to take all suggestions, but they CAN'T be from the US / Canada. I prefer events that happened in the Middle East / Asia / Africa, but at this point, I'll take almost anything. Ideally, the event will have happened from any time after 1950 to present (easier to find sources).

    Thanks in advance. =]

  • What happens at a Non-Mandatory Court Appearance?

About two weeks ago I stopped at a stop sign, went, and turns out.. someone was coming. I didn't see them and they didn't slow down so they ran into my passenger side. Anyway, because of the accident I got a ticket for failure to yield.

I'm 17, and people at school told me that if you go to the court date (which I'm doing for extra credit in government class, anyway :P) you may get money or points removed.

I'm curious (and kinda nervous though)... what actually happens? What do I do? (My dad is coming with me, but I don't think that he knows either.)

  • What should I make tomorrow night for dinner?

I'm a vegetarian. I was thinking some kind of curry, but I'm up for anything if it's good. It's okay if not all of my ingredients are used (that might be kind of weird), but I'm hoping for a recipe that uses many of them.

Things I have that I want to use:

    Carrots

    Onions

    Red Pepper

    Various Frozen vegetables

    Basmati Rice

    Pasta

    Various Pasta Sauces

Please don't copy and paste the recipes, just the links. Thank you!

  • So my band is playing a basement show...?

...in about two weeks. I'm nervous as hell. Thing is, I've sung for more (many more) people before. But that was on an actual stage. I dunno what it is about the basement show that's freaking me out. Maybe the fact that it's so... intimate?

Any one else ever felt that way? Got any good tips for my performance? Keep in mind that I'm gonna be thisclose to the crowd. =] I don't wanna do anything stupid. XD

  • If you could be a different race, which race would you be?

I'll actually choose a best answer, so either have a really, really good serious reason or have really funny and / or awesome reason. Either way, be honest! =] I'm curious to know what everyone thinks.

  • How can I make an alcohol look-alike?

So. I'm in a band, and I'm the only underage (and straight edge) one. I've got an empty bottle of Southern Comfort, and I need to fill it with something that looks somewhat realistic so I can play a little practical joke on my bandmates. Any ideas? I'm looking for something fairly easy to buy/make that doesn't taste gross.

  • What are the laws for minors in bands performing in bars?

I'm in a band, and I'm sixteen. All of the other people in the band are over eighteen, and two of the three are legally able to drink.

What laws are there in Wisconsin regarding minors performing in venues that are primarily bars and venues that serve alcohol? It'll be tricky gigging if we can't play anywhere because of me :(

  • What is a good EASY rolled fondant recipe?

I'm a vegetarian, so the recipe can't contain gelatin or marshmallows? I've been wanting to experiment with fondant for awhile, so any help is appreciated :)
