I have a spare tower I want to put a bunch of movies on for my girlfriends children. They destroy the DVDs with rough handeling and I was thinking I could just rip them to the hard drive and let them watch it from there.

But I would like to set up an account for them that does not allow them to delete anything. Just have the account open up, the movie folder come up and thats all they can get at. Is such a thing possible?

Ages 2 and 4 by the way, so I want to try and keep it as simple as posible.

The woman I am dating right now has told me twice recently that it is not my place to do things for her.

the first is that she does not work and naturally has no insurance. She has not been to a dentist in years and it shows. I offered to pay for her to go and In fact get a good cleaning because she is really self conscious about her teeth but it is "not my place" to see that she get to see a dentist.

Second thing is that she does not have a drivers license. In fact none of her bothers or sisters do because her parents never wanted to put them on their insurance so they just never taught them to drive. I wanted to help her get a learners permit so that when we are together she can drive and get some experience behind the wheel. Once again it is not my place to help her get a drivers license.

This is really offensive to me because if I am supposed to be the man in her life then why is it that I cant do anything to help her? I don't want to have someone who is constantly dependent on others for transportation like she is now. The reason she does not work is supposedly because her mom wont drive her to work so she cant work.

One thing I want to talk to her about is she is going to college online right now and only taking once course per semester and acting like 2 courses would be impossible for her to keep up with. I am beginning to think she is just a slacker and I need to bail.

My uncle was on the cover of sports afield back in 1995 and had a copy of thethe cover framedof on his wall. After his death recently several of my cousins want copies of it but because sports afield changed ownership in 2003 no back issues are available prior to that date.

I am very hesitant to remove the cover from the frame because after being under glass for close to 17 years I have hears that the inks used in magazine covers may stick to the glass and ruin the picture. Can anyone suggest a way to make copies of it without removing it from the frame?

A guy near me used to own a motorcycle shop that went out of business a year ago. When he closed he had about a dozen bikes that he had worked on and the owners did not want to pay for the repair costs. Now he is wanting to sell the bikes whole or in parts just to try and recoup some of his losses.

Question 1: Would buying a bike from him with just a bill of sale be legal since he is not the owner? I don't know if he has applied for a mechanics lien on them but it seems like if he had he would have a title.

Question 2: Could I apply for a title in order to get the bike legal to ride on the road?

I don't wnt to put the money and effort into customizing the bike just to end up with something that is borderline stolen property.

My brothers truck is giving him trouble, has new plugs, wires, dist cap, rotor, fuel pumps and filter. all that good stuff. but as soon as he goes to let out the clutch it falls on its face and dies. if you goose the trottle it will stay running but start bucking hard. I am neither a ford man, nor do I know much on fuel injection so I cant help him much.

I just bought a 2006 dodge 2500 4x4 auto with a cummins less than a month ago, in the month I have had it is has only run 7 days and spent 15 days in the shop with transmission trouble. this morning they called and said it is fixed, this is the second time that the dealership has "fixed" it. I am honestly considering trading it in on a different truck at a different dealler and just taking a hit on the value since it only came with a 30 day warranty, and I dont trust the truck at all. after I bought it I drove it 4 days and it broke, then once I got it back drove it another 3 days and it broke again. this time it spent 9 straight days in three different outside shops trying to fix it before they finally found the solution.

Bought a dodge 2500 with a cummins a little less than a month ago. Drove it for 4 days and the torque converter went out. spent several days in the shop, had to ride my motorcycle to crewchange.

Got back on dryland and my truck was ready and waiting for me, drove it three days and the engine light came on and the truck had no power, got it towed back to the trans shop and had the codes ran on it got a p0748, (Governor Pressure solinoid) the parts were changed but problem not solved. trans shop kept it 2 days, finally gave up and sent it to a shop better with wireing. been there since (that was last tuesday)

So I have had the truck a month, I have been home 14days to be able to drive it, and it has spent over half of the month in the shop chasing ghosts in the electrical.

Due to louisiana law I have to give them the opertunity to fix it before I can attempt to get the dealer to buy it back but they can keep trying for a while, and I can keep paying half of alot of repair bills till they give up too. (my waranty is only 50/50 parts and labor)

At what point to I have a case to have it bought back?

Is there anything "wrong" with re-routing my brake lines? Right now they pass between my frame and the fuel tank. one of the broke and I really don't feel like dropping the tank, I was thinking on just running new line down the other frame rail and just bypassing the old metal lines with new ones in a more accessible area.

1984 4runner trail rig.

I drove my tow rig home from work yesterday, ran fine all day long, parked it and everything died, no radio, lights starter, not even the cigarette lighter. Traced wires all day today, checked all the fusible links, but for some there was no 12 volts getting to the fuse box. Decided to try jumping from the battery to the pair of terminals on the firewall where several apparently normally hot wires come together. Truck cranked and ran normally, disconnected the jumper and the dang thing still works normally even without the jumper now. While I am glad the truck is working, it is not exactly confidence inspiring.

I from how it looks (may be mistaken) all the trucks 12 volt power goes through the starter solenoid (both wires from the batt lead to the starter, then some wires go from a second terminal on the Solenoid back to the wiring harness. Could it be an internal fault in the solenoid that by starting the truck jarred it into working am I just completely off base.

I recently bought a 1987 Chevrolet R30 with a 454 TBI in it.

I am trying to change the O2 sensor but I cant get it to break loose. I have been putting penetrating oil on it for a few days now, another other tricks I can try?

The reason I am trying to change the O2 sensor is because the first couple tanks of fuel I ran through it I got about 11mpg but the last five or six I have been lucky to get 7-8 without a trailer or 6 mpg when I am towing.

If you have any other suggestions for things to check I am open to any ideas. It has all new Fuel pumps, filters, and air filter already installed (all Wix) already.

Ok, Just got this truck after it had been parked for a new months.

It starts fairly well, will sometimes die and have to be cranked but always remains running on the second crank. bigger problem is that when ever I am decelerating and go to down shift several times it has died between gears. also when leaving from a stop it will hesitate when given throttle, a slow cruising accelerations is ok, but if I goose it it is like it stutters, then about 3 seconds later clears out and pulls like normal.

I have a new air filter on it, and the oil change place today did a fuel injector cleaner on it. I am waiting to finish running the treatment they put in the tank out, then I will also change the fuel filter but I am just confused with it dieing during the deceleration.

I have an after market water temp guage on my 1984 Toyota 4runner with a 22r.

I recently switched back to the Clutch fan and shroud after my electric fans failed on my on the trail.

Now at idle the temperature stays around 212 and while going say 55 miles an hour, it shows about 205.

I am running 30%antifreeze 70% water + 1 bottle of water Wetter.

I was used to my electric fan drawing enough air that the temperature on my guage stayed right at the temperature the thermostat opened @ (at the time I was running an after market 180 thermostat) Now I am running all brand new toyota original equipment including a 190 thermostat.

I don't feel like these temperatures are normal, but if I cant find a way to fix it in the next 7 days I am going to miss a trail ride I have been planning almost 5 months for, I even scheduled my vacation for this. Please someone who is familiar help me out and let me know if this is normal and my engine will be ok, or if I need to do something.

I have a 1984 4runner and would like to remove the top and doors(mostly for trail riding but would also be driven on the street doorless since I don't have a trailer it fits on or a truck to tow it to the trailhead.

Jeep drivers drive around doorless all the time but someone told me that I could be ticketed for driving my truck without the doors, but the local police force said that they don't know for certain if it is illegal or not (but the chief here in town seems like the kind who would tell you something is legal then turn around and bust you for it 5 min later).

So please, anyone who knows for certain one way or the other please answer (please don't just say if jeeps do it anyone can do it). The truck is registered in Louisiana but may cross state lines going to certain Offroad events.
