  • Where can I buy a biosphere?

I'm pretty sure it was an Australian online store. I saw it probably about a year ago at an online store that also stocked kinetic torches and other 'environmental' type gadgets.

The biosphere was a glass sphere, fully enclosed marine system. I think it was under $100? I wish I could find it again because I'd like to buy one.

  • My HP5110 printer has decided to go on strike :(?

Actually, it just seems to be the blue that's not working. We have print from our macbook using airport and the wrong drivers since we couldn't install/download the right drivers.

It's been printing fine but since we went away on holiday for 3wks, we've come back and the cyan has gone on strike :(

Any ideas how to get it working again please? We have tried cleaning, new cartridges etc so any ideas are welcome.

  • Cloth nappy/diaper scrunching in crotch?

Does anyone have any suggestions to stop this?

  • How do you stop the scrunching?

Help! I have just converted back to cloth and have bought some Eenee Weenee Pouch Pants which I absolutely love. My problem is that the microfibre nappy insert scrunches up in between my baby's legs which means it's not as effective. Does anyone use these nappies and have this problem?

Or does anyone have any ideas of how to stop cloth nappies from scrunching in the crotch?

  • How do you clean mould?

off coins? My son's piggy bank is a kind of vinyl/plastic pig and since we put some coins in it, they have gone mouldy. What is the best way to clean the coins and piggy bank? I have read that you shouldn't clean coins or if you do, only with warm soapy water as anything else is too abrasive. But will warm soapy water be strong enough to get rid of the mould?

  • How can I grow a nice lawn?

Over the last 3 years, our lawn has gone from green and lush to half brown and sparse. There are times when our retic works but mostly it doesn't so our lawn relies on us watering it. Sometimes this works but other times, lots of water makes the ground appear mouldy and doesn't seem to help the lawn. Is there a way of making our lawn thicker again and is it possibly to train it to be drought resistant?

  • Why does my car squeak?

A squeak has developed over the last couple of months. It's only heard when turning to the right. It's a rotational noise. The mechanic is convinced it's squeaky breaks due to the heat & humidity. He said he could not see anything wrong when it was up on the hoist and it will probably go away when the weather cools down in a couple of months.

The car is a 1999 Ford Falcon AU and has just had the lower all joints replaced (squeaking before this event and continuing after).

  • How do you explain death to little kids?

My friend has recently lost her mother and is wondering if her kids really know what's going on and if they are expressing their grief appropriately. Have you ever had to explain death (of a grandparent) to a young child? How did they respond?

  • Total newbie who needs help with step-by-step instructions?

on how to compost. I have moved into a house with a compost bin so figure I should get composting. Is it as easy as just chucking in all my food scraps or is there more to it than that?

If there are different layers, could you please list them in order and give a possible time frame? Ta.

  • Ooooo my poor little poppet!?

My 7mth old daughter's stools are small dry pellets that sometimes come out in a clump. She has been having lactulose and microlax to help her to go. We will be introducing coloxyl drops soon. She eats mostly fruit and vegies and still breastfeeds mostly. Her urine is clear and odourless and she has lots of wees.

Is there anything I can do to help her or do I just 'sit it out' and wait for things to improve when she starts crawling (probably won't be for another 5mths)

  • We just can't make up our minds.....?

Option A: Keep the $450k (investment) and $650k (future home) houses we own and do nothing

Option B: Keep the 2 houses and buy a $150k pure investment

Option C: Sell the $450k and buy a $350k investment

Option D: Sell the $450k and buy a $450k investment/possible future home in different state

Option E: Sell the $450k and buy a $650k future home in different state

I guess there are some variables I have not factored in here but this is what it boils down to. What would you do and why?

  • Why is it that?

the nightlight in my kids' bedroom is shining more brightly than it did before. It's bright enough to read by now! It's a standard 7.5W bulb (240V AC) plugged into a powerboard which is plugged into the wall. I did nothing but just one night it was shining more brightly

  • I'm so confused.......?

Ok. I'm interested in doing further study. I have a BA (Linguistics & Anthropology) and Dep Ed (TESL). I am thinking of perhaps doing some Special Needs (gifted and learning disabled) Education or maybe Linguistics (language disorders). I just don't know what to do!

Is there a good 'career counsellor' online that will help me decide what I should study?

  • How do I compress photos in a Word document?

so that the size of the document reduces from 20Mb down to something the printer or email can handle? My document has 14 photos fitting on one A4 sheet. I can't print it as it's too much for the printer to handle. I can't email it because it exceeds the attachment limit. Is there an easy way of maybe compressing the photos? They are .jpg

I have 4 littles and am bored. Obviously, that's why I'm on this! Any ideas of entertainment for myself? Something to do at home after the kids have gone to bed.
