We'll be in Athens for one night in mid-October before we board a cruise ship. We'd like to take the train from the airport to The Plaka and stay there for one night. Can someone recommend a reasonably priced hotel not far from a train stop?

8 AnswersEtiquette1 decade agoHow do I remove built up wax on my clay tile floors that are 80 years old?
We live in a mediterranean style home built in the twenties. Old wax is chipping off the tile floors and the tile underneath the wax appears to be unglazed. I'm afraid I'll take the aged look away if I strip the wax, but I can't get a smooth application of Johnson's Plaza with little pieces of wax flecking off.

I had it for salads and then didn't use it. My family isn't big on spinach, but I don't want to throw such a healthy food out. Any ideas on how to cook/freeze it and use it later in a way 15,16, and 17 year old boys would enjoy?
7 AnswersCooking & Recipes1 decade agoWhere does the term "black Irish" come from?
I have heard one person say it is from Irish families owning black slaves and giving the black kids Irish last names. I've also heard it came from Spanish ships landing in Ireland, mating with the Irish and now many Irish people have black hair.

5 AnswersPolitics1 decade agoWhat is the metal piece that covers an Arab woman's nose and lips and crosses her forehead.?
I saw a woman in Harrod's in London with the brass piece going from temple to temple, down her nose and in the shape of lips over her mouth. A man with us thought she wore this because she was considered too beautiful to be seen in public. I thought perhaps this is some kind of support for the veil and its purpose is to keep her black veil off her nose and mouth.I think she had the veil off to look at make-up at the store. Does anyone know about this? The other women she was with did not have their faces covered, although in other parts of the store, some of the women were entirely covered except for an open rectangle for the eyes.
