  • Anyone have a Demonoid invitation code?

I'm sure this question gets asked here all the time, but does anyone have an invitation code for Demonoid they'd be willing to give me? I finally found a .torrent I've been looking for, but unfortunately, it's hosted on Demonoid so I can't download it.

I don't have anything to give in return, but I'd be really grateful for your help.

  • In California, if the governor introduces a new amendment, how does it get passed and become law?

More specifically, take the new amendment that Gov. Schwarzenegger is trying to get passed that would take money away from prisons and give it to CA's universities.

What is the process for him to get it adopted? And at what point does it become a ballot initiative?

  • Who actually writes California's state budget?

For a project, I need to find out who writes the state budget. I know for a fact that it's not Schwarzenegger, but I can't find on the internet who actually writes it.

  • Who is the antagonist in Karen Kingsbury's book "Return"?

I'm doing a report on this book and I need to identify and describe the antagonist.

Personally, I think the antagonist could be a few different people/things, so I was hoping to hear what other people thought. For example, is it Lori? Or maybe even Luke's pride? Or someone/something else?

    Thanks for any help!

  • What are some good themes/ideas for an audio/photography project?

For my photography class, our final project is to compose a series of photos with accompanying audio. Basically, we have to record the audio (e.g. natural sound, interviews, etc.) and then dub it over our photos.

I need some help at least coming up with audio ideas for the project. I've got some ideas for photos, but I'm having issues on what to use as audio.

My ideas are thematic and thus far include:

    – Family

    – Friends

    – Lake Arrowhead (my home town)

    – Love

Within these themes, I'm not sure what to use as audio. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Also, I'd love to hear other project ideas.

  • Am I the only SVU fan who doesn't ship Elliot & Olivia? Or the only one who actually likes Elliot with Kathy?

I'm just curious because I've been a die hard SVU fan for a while now, but I have yet to meet someone who likes and/or ships Elliot and his wife. I'm starting to feel like I'm the only one who doesn't want Elliot to hook up with Liv. Or, at the very least, the only one who enjoys watching the relationship between him and his wife.

  • Help with a Survey/Questionnaire for college class.?

I was wondering if anyone could help me out by answering some (10) questions for me. It's an assignment for one my classes and it's supposed to help us "better understand how people think in our culture" (or so says the assignment sheet). This was actually supposed to be an interview project, but it seemed like all the people I interviewed had the same or very similar views. Thus, I'm hoping to see what people who aren't from my home town think. :) I know it's something that might take a few minutes, but really, I can't thank you enough for your help!

    Anyway, here are the questions:

    Age and Marital Status:

1.) How would you define happiness?

2.) What qualities make a person successful in life?

3.) What qualities make a person a good person?

4.) Are there any absolute or objective standards of right and wrong? If so, what are they?

5.) At this point, what is the highest priority of your life?

6.) If someone asked you to explain to them your philosophy of life (what you live by), what would you say? What reasons would you give to justify your answer?

7.) What is your view concerning the existence of God or the nature of ultimate reality? What reasons would you give to justify your answers?

8.) In your view, what is the most basic or fundamental human problem?

9.) Is there a solution to the most basic human problem? If so, what is it?

10.) What questions do you most wish you could answer in your life?

  • Which major is a better choice: English or Journalism?

I want to be both a writer and copy editor, but I don't know which major is a better choice for that.

A friend of mine who's a writer said that English majors are a dime a dozen, so I should choose Journalism. However, other people I've talked to have said that English is the better major. I've also heard that a degree in Journalism won't get me that far, as it's better to have more experience in a secondary field (i.e. law, science, etc.) than to learn Journalism in a classroom.

Any help would be appreciated. I'm a junior in college this year and I've completed all my GE's, so it has come time for me to choose for sure. If I could, I'd major in one and minor in the other, but at the school I'm going to (BIOLA), everyone minors in Bible. Thus my dilemma.

  • What are some of the best things to do/see in Sydney, the Gold Coast, and (especially) Melbourne, Australia?

For my Geography class, we have to plan a 10 day trip to another country. I chose to do Australia.

The only problem is that I'm stuck on what things to do and/or see – especially in Melbourne. In Sydney and the Gold Coast, there are some obvious landmarks to visit, but it doesn't seem that way with Melbourne (at least that I've found so far). Also, since I've never been there, all my information is coming from the internet, which – of course – highlights only the most "touristy" spots. But my hope is to go deeper than JUST the tourist hot spots and do some things/see things that only locals know about.

So, what are those places – the "local gems"? Or, if YOU were planning a trip to those three areas, where would you go and what would you want to see?

Oh, and for reference, the trip is planned for mid July.

  • How does an internet connection work?

For my computer science class, we were given the following assignment: In a paragraph describe how an internet connection works. Include all details from the computer you are using to the page you are viewing.

It doesn't sound that hard, but for whatever reason I'm having trouble answering it. I'm probably just over-thinking it or something, but either way, please help!

  • In CSI: NY, what are the best Danny and/or Danny/Flack episodes?

I recently got into CSI: New York and have fallen in love with the character of Danny, and subsequently with the Danny/Flack pairing (even if it's not really canon). I haven't been watching that long, and therefore haven't seen that many episodes, so I'm curious which would be the best to watch in regard to the character and/or pairing.

  • In what interview did Kasey Kahne say that, other than Casey Mears, he doesn't have many friends at the track?

In the past, and more than once, I've read that and/or heard Kasey Kahne say that he doesn't really have a lot of friends to hang out with at the track (other than Casey Mears). He also said that this is why he pretty much just hangs out in his hauler during the weekend.

Someone is asking about such an interview, so I'm trying to find one of the places where I either heard him say it or read about it. Only problem is that I don't have the time right now to go through Google, Yahoo!, NASCAR.com, etc. to find it. However, I know I'm surely not the only one who heard him say that, so if anyone could help me locate the interview(s), I'd really appreciate it.

  • To all the women, why do you think your right to vote is so important.?

I'm doing a research paper on women's suffrage. I'd like to include a few answers on why other women think it's important (other than myself), so thanks for taking the time to answer.
