We rescued this cat 3 years ago, the vet figured he was right around a year old when we found him, he was neutered 2 weeks after taking him in. Last year he started humping soft bedding, like polar fleece blankets, but only soft bedding, he leaves the cotton throw blankets totally alone. He did not do this before last year.

He also does not purr- ever- unless he is doing this. We honestly did not think he could purr until this.

WHY? the worst part is, he LOOKS at us when he's doing it. It's one part hilarious, one part really disturbing.

a friend of mine has her solar panels for sale. her system was stuck by lightning, and the inverter and batteries were fried, but she says her panels are still good. would the life be shortened? how about the effectiveness? would a strike even do anything to the panels? they were not stuck directly, just a surge through the system from a proximity strike.

i have fibromyalgia. it hurts to wear socks. a LOT. ive been told that diabetic socks might be ok for me. my problem is, i cant find them in anything except solid white, black, blue, or grey. does anyone know where i could find some with patterns, bright colours, with animals or something on them?

my dog's last two blood glucose curves, done by our vet, showed little to no fluctuation of his blood glucose levels. the chart is just a basic flat line. my vet does not like to speculate and talk to me about things until he knows what is going on, so has sent some samples and test results away to a specialist, which i wont know anything about for a couple of weeks. my dog also has cushing's, and the treatment for that has sent him into addison's, but they both seem to be under control now and we have stopped his prednisone, but he gets flourinef every other morning still.

has anyone experienced this? what could be going on? pooch seems fine, although a little hungry before supper, as we've had to push his supper back 2 hours from normal to sync with when he gets his insulin. he is on caninsulin, twice a day, at 8 am and 8 pm. that is also when he eats. he gets 2-3 treats reccomended by the vet around 5, sometimes with a baby carrot or two, or a piece of broccoli. he has no symptoms except when he goes out to pee, instead of just marking everything in the yard, he actually has a real pee, then continues to mark everything in the yard as before. he does not go out more than often, still runs away if we try to get him to go out and he doesnt have to go, isnt drinking any more water than usual, has had no episodes either way, etc. he is acting fully healthy and normal. so whats up with his flat line curve?

My dog has cushing's. his medication, vetoryl, has tipped him into addison's, so we are treating that. he also has diabetes. i CANNOT do the twice a day injections, as i have rheumatoid arthritis, and cannot, in any way, open my hands in the morning. will he do ok on a once a day injection in the evening? has anyone had experience with this? I will be asking my vet this, but they are not open until tuesday, and i'd like to have any info i can get before then.

i have Meniere's Disease. it doesn't act up much, i get occasional vertigo and tinnitus. however, the last time i had to fly, i was sick for months after. It wasn't every day, or all day, but it was enough to ruin my life for 3 months. I am looking at the possibility of having to fly again. Has anyone else suffered this? Is there anything that can be done so i can fly and not look forward to another 3 months of laying on the couch puking?

the only symptom of possible cushing's disease is a very swollen belly that he has had for a couple of months.

since he will be having that test done, is there anything else his swollen belly could be to test for?

his appetite and behaviour is normal, and he shows no signs of aging except for 'old man warts' which the vet says are harmless and can be removed if i really want to, but i dont see a reason.
