What type of handgun to buy for a female?
I am interested in getting a handgun in the near future. I have very little experience with them, mostly because in my state you have to be 21 to purchase the ammo and I am still 20. I plan on using it for protection, but would also like to go to ranges with it.
I have been looking around and I think my best best would to go with a .38 special revolver. From what I'm reading it is a good balance between power and lower kickback, and is simple enough for someone that is inexperienced.
The problem is that I don't know where to go from there. I am a college student, so I can't afford an outrageously expensive gun, but at the same time I don't want a piece of junk. What would be a good model that wont break me financially?
2 AnswersOther - Outdoor Recreation1 decade agoHow to fix my UGLY apartment bathroom?
I will be moving into a new apartment this fall that I absolutely love. It is in the perfect location, with the perfect setup, and the cutest balcony. One major problem though, the hideous bathroom.
This bathroom is covered floor to ceiling in 1960's style aqua tile. It also has a matching toilet, sink, and tub in the same color. The bathroom is a complete eyesore.
I will be living in this apartment for at least 2 years and would like to do something to make it more tolerable. Because the place is a rental I can not replace or paint the tile.
Is there a non-permanent cover-up for the tiles? If not do you have any suggestions on a way I can decorate the room to distract from the overwhelming color scheme?
Just a note:
This is not the actual bathroom. I do not have pictures of it available. I found this online and it is a close representation of the colors we are talking about here. This is more subdued because of the white tub, sink, and toilet, but I hope you get the idea.
5 AnswersDecorating & Remodeling1 decade agoGift ideas for 12 days of Christmas.?
This Christmas for my boyfriend (hes 19) I want to do a reverse 12 days of Christmas surprise for him. On the first day he will get 12 gifts, on the second day he will get 11, and so on until he gets his one big gift on christmas day.
Maybe Candy, boxers, massage coupons, slippers, sodas, etc.
I'm having a hard time thinking of 11 different gifts though. Any ideas?
3 AnswersChristmas1 decade agoTypes of piercing retainers.?
I plan on getting my labret pierced today, but they don't allow facial piercings where I work (I'm a hostess for a fancy restaurant). I plan on getting a clear retainer to put in while I'm working, but am a little worried about putting on in a fresh piercing.
I know they make acrylic retainers (plastic) but I would rather not go that route if I have the option. Is there any other type of clear (or flesh colored) labret retainers I could get for work. Maybe glass or silicon?
2 AnswersOther - Skin & Body1 decade agoim always sick, cant figure out why.?
im a college student living in a dorm. i know i dont eat right (im living off of campus cafeteria food) and i dont sleep right.
ever since winter i keep getting sick. at least once a week or so i will suddenly get extremely sick to my stomach (with bad stomach pains and a horrible queezing feeling). i also get pretty bad hedaches/ dizziness to go along with it.
im not pregnant. im currently on the birth control patch and am regular on my periods. ive switched medications, to rule out one of them making me sick, and it didnt help.
what could it be? i cant see a doctor for a couple weeks and finals are coming up. i dont trust the medical center, so i need something to hold me up until i can get home.
7 AnswersOther - General Health Care1 decade agoeasy drinks with vodka or rum?
im looking for something simple to make this weekend. im going to a party that has an everclear punch (which i tend to stay away from), so im bringing something of my own. im a big fan of vodka and rum, but am a little bored with the classics. rum and coke is good, and vodka and juices are fine, but what else can i make that is good and simple?
9 AnswersBeer, Wine & Spirits1 decade agohow much should i feed my pet mouse?
i just got a pet mouse (that was originally one of my friend's snake's feeder mice that i took in). i have two hamsters and have been feeding the mouse hamster food for the last few days. ive read that hamster food is ok as long as you add in fruits and veggies.
my question is how often and how much should i be feeding the little guy. i give him a little cup every day and he inhales it within a hour. will he only eat when hes hungry, or are mice more like horses (they eat whenever theres food). i dont want to feed him too much, but i also dont want him to go hungry.
thanks
8 AnswersRodents1 decade agoMy first koi fish: a proper habitat.?
i was looking into getting a koi fish, but was curious if a large pond was needed right away. i know kois start small (only a few inches) but can grow to be huge (a couple feet long) and eventually need a full pond to live in. i wanted to start off with a tank until the koi outgrows it, but didnt know how fast they grow. how long would i be able to keep a koi in a decent sized tank before i would require a full pond setup?
i was also considering getting a smaller indoor pond at first ad then upgrading as necessary. i live in an apartment currently and dont have tons of outdoor space.
