Knitting or Crocheting Scarfs? Which is Easier?
My 12 year old niece is spending the summer with me, and for whatever reason, she really wants to learn how to make a scarf and a throw blanket. I know absolutely nothing about crocheting and knitting, so I have a couple questions. First of all, are scarfs generally knitted or crocheted? Same with blankets. Also, which do you think would be easier for her to learn? ( I was planning on buying her a book to help her learn, since I have no experience whatsoever.) Thanks!
5 AnswersHobbies & Crafts1 decade agoBand with girl and guy? Starts with an E, I think?
My friend showed me a band a few days ago, but I can't remember the name of them. It's a guy and a girl singing...(I think she said that they were husband and wife, maybe?) Anyway, I think the band name might have started with an E? Like Elowen or something along those lines. Anyone know who I'm thinking of? Thanks! :)
3 AnswersRock and Pop1 decade agoPolitical Science or History for Second Major?
The university I'm attending requires that every student choose a minor, but rather than get a minor (25 credit hours), I'd rather just go ahead and take the few extra classes and double major (36 credits hours). The only thing is, my college doesn't really offer much to choose from...so I'm trying to decide between Political Science or History as my second major. What do you think would be more likely to get me future jobs? (I know neither are known for getting new graduates jobs, but like I said, I don't have much of a choice.)
I live about an hour outside of D.C. if that makes a difference, and my main major is English. Thank you! :)
3 AnswersHigher Education (University +)1 decade agoWhich law school better choice?
What would be a wiser choice? Going to a law school that has a yearly tuition of ten thousand dollars, but is around 90th on the list of top laws schools. Or would attending a law school who's tuition is 30 thousand yearly but is around 30th on the list of top law schools be a smarter choice? I just can't really decide which would be smarter in the long run. I know that it's really competitive to find a job as a lawyer right now, so would paying 20 thousand dollars more a year, just for a school that is higher on the list really be smarter? Or just a waste of money? What do you think? Thanks. :)
The law schools are WVU and Wake Forest, by the way.

I'm really craving one of their breakfast flatbread sandwiches, and I can't remember whether they serve it all day long or not, lol. Thanks. :)
8 AnswersFast Food1 decade agoAre College Minors Important?
I'm going to a fairly small university to major in English, and I have to decide this week what my minor is going to be. Here's the problem though, my school doesn't offer a large selection of majors and minors to choose from, and the ones that they do offer don't really correlate with my major. So my question is, are minors really that important to employers? Or should I just take a minor that's interesting to me? For instance, would it make a difference to an employer if I majored in English, but minored in say, Art History? Thanks. :)
3 AnswersHigher Education (University +)1 decade agoInexpensive places to eat in NYC?
My friend and I are going to NYC this weekend, and I'm trying to find a quick & generally inexpensive place to eat for lunch, preferably near Bryant Park. Thanks. :)
4 AnswersNew York City1 decade agoTrouble sleeping at night?
I'm nineteen years old, and I've been having trouble sleeping every since I was little. It takes me at least an hour to fall asleep at night, and I end up waking up multiple times during the night. Not just once or twice, I'm talking like multiple times an hour. Even if sleep ten hours, I still feel completely exhausted the next day. It's just getting really frustrating. Any advice? Things that will help me fall asleep quicker, and stay asleep?
And I'm not very keen on prescription sleeping pills. I was prescribed some once around the age of 14, and they just made me feel weird.
5 AnswersOther - General Health Care1 decade agoDress for a wedding; which shoes to wear?
First of all, do you think this dress would be okay to wear to a wedding? (I'm nineteen, by the way, if that makes a difference.) The big question is though, what style of shoes should I wear with it? I really can't come up with anything. Most of the high heels that I've looked at, seem too fancy to wear with this particular dress. Any help would be awesome. :)
Here's the dress:

7 AnswersFashion & Accessories1 decade agoBest Topping for Apple Cake?
I'm making a Apple Bundt Cake for the first time, and I'm wondering what type of topping would be the best on it. The recipe didn't specify. So I was thinking either a caramel glaze, caramel frosting, or cream cheese frosting. What do you think? Or any other ideas. Thanks in advance. :)
4 AnswersCooking & Recipes1 decade agoEnglish Degree, Which Minor?
I'm majoring in English, but I can't decide whether to get a minor in journalism or a minor in French. I'm considering going to law school in the future, but it's not decided. If not, I might go into technical writing or editing..and really anything in that general category. Anyway, which would be better to have...and minor journalism or French? Or is it just pointless altogether to have a minor? Thanks. :)
2 AnswersHigher Education (University +)1 decade agoLaw School Application?
Other than having a good GPA and high LSAT scores, what would give a law school application a more competitive edge? I'm currently in my sophomore year of college with a 3.8 cumulative GPA...and I'm just really wanting to know what will give my future law school application an edge that will up my chances of getting into a really spectacular law school. Any specific advice would be wonderful. :)
3 AnswersHigher Education (University +)1 decade agoBridesmaid's Dress is wayyy too big?
One of my friend's bridesmaids canceled on her, so she asked me to take her place. Problem is, the bride had already ordered the dress in the original bridesmaid's size...which is a size 8...I'm a size 2 lol. The dress is non returnable/exchangeable, so she can't exchange it for my size. So now I'm wondering, how should I go about fixing this? Would they be able to re-size it at the fitting for me? Or should I get it altered/tailored somewhere else? And is it even possible with the size difference lol? I'm all new to this, so a little advice would be awesome. Thanks. :)
Oh, by the way, it's a short sleeveless chiffon dress with beaded straps. It has a sweetheart neckline, and the chiffon flows away from the body beginning below the bust and ends at the knees. If that makes any difference.
3 AnswersFashion & Accessories1 decade agoWhich college science is the easiest?
I'm okay in science, generally speaking, but I'm horrible in mathematics. So I'm trying to decide which science class would be the easiest overall (and one that has little to no math). Which of these do you think would be the easiest? Please & thank you. :)
GEOL 101: Planet Earth

BIOL 101: General Biology

5 AnswersHigher Education (University +)1 decade agoPinkish Pasta Sauce Recipe?
I went to a local family owned restaurant awhile back, and they served me pasta with a creamy sauce that was kind of a light pinkish flesh colored sauce. I've been wanting to make it recently but I can't remember what it was. Anyone have any ideas of what it might be? Thank you. :)

3 AnswersHistory1 decade agoWhat EXACTLY is the Mayan Prophecy?
I'm doing a persuasive speech on why the world isn't going to end in 2012. I'm trying to incorporate the most popular myths, including the belief dealing with the Mayans, but I'm having trouble explaining what exactly the myth is in a short, simplistic way. Everywhere I read gives a different explanation. Any help?
Also, if you could tell me what some of the other most popular myths, that would be great. I've never been interested in this subject, and never bothered to learn about it until I was assigned this project. So I don't know all that much about it. Thank you!
10 AnswersAstronomy & Space1 decade agoResults from Chemical Peels?
I'm considering getting 20% salicylic acid peels. I have mild red and purple marks from previous acne, they fade eventually but I would rather speed up the process because I have an important event coming up in about a month. How many peels do you think it would take before I see dramatic results, or roughly how long will it take before those marks are barely visible?
Any other recommendations for peels, or how to get rid of the marks are much appreciated. Thank you!
1 AnswerSkin Conditions1 decade agoMy hair won't color anymore?
I've been coloring my hair for years, and I've NEVER had this problem. After having my hair a reddish brown for about 2 years..I decided to go back to blonde. I bleached it, etc..and left it blonde for the summer. I then decided to go back to red/brown again. Here's the problem though. The sides of my hair and my roots are a very pretty brownish red, but there's a large chunk of cool blonde in the back of my hair that won't dye. I've tried dying it multiple times, used different conditioning treatments from Sally's. And still, nothing. Any help please? It's driving me crazy.
4 AnswersHair1 decade agoQuestion Regarding Health Care Bill?
I'm currently attending college full time, mainly due to the fact that I will be dropped off my parent's health insurance if I only go part time. I know that on September 23rd, it changed so that children could stay on their parent's health insurance until the age of 26, but does this apply to everybody? Or does it depend on your insurance company, etc?
My reasoning for asking this, is that I'm having trouble in one of my classes, but I don't want to withdrawl from it and be kicked off my parent's health insurance.
