  • Explain ESPNEWS to me?

On TV, there's ESPN -- well, there's also ESPNEWS. Which word does the N go to? ESP-NEWS? ESPN-EWS?

I've been arguing with my friend and his dad about it. His dad insists it's ESPN-EWS, while my friend insists it's ESP-NEWS.

ESP-NEWS seems dumb to me - it just makes me think of ESP, which makes me imagine a TV network that could tell me the news before it happened. On the other hand, ESPN-EWS makes no sense at all. So, while I'm supposed to be the person deciding this argument, I can't decide!

Yahoo! Answers, decide for me. Which one is it, and why?

  • How Do I Increase Traffic To My Blog?

I have a blog about making money/getting free gift cards online (the link's in my profile if you're curious). I'm having trouble driving traffic to my blog, despite it being several months old and updated pretty regularly. I also think it's a pretty good blog, in general. I've tried submitting it to blog search engines (some charge just to review it, I didn't submit to those), but beyond that I'm stumped. I can't use anything like EasyHits4U as the blog has Adsense ads on it and my account would get yanked. What are some good ways to drive traffic to my blog that don't require being aggressive/annoying on message boards, etc?

  • Can wrong bra band size deform breasts?

I'm 25 years old. My breasts are very small and spaced far apart. The nipples point slightly outward. I saw a video in which breasts that looked a lot like my own were described as "shapeless" and the reason cited was "wearing wrong brassiere".

I found out I have been wearing a 34A rather than a 32A band, like I ought to. Now I'm worried that they are spaced too far apart because of this, and/or I may be deformed by it. If I begin wearing the correct bra size, will this correct itself? Or is it permanent?

  • What kind of flower is this?

    http://i145.photobucket.com/albums/r228/ebkstlouis...

My friend just bought these flowers at the store. I think they're beautiful, and I'd really like to know what sort of flower they are. They were on a shelf, but the tags had been removed from them, so we have no idea what kind they are. I feel sort of dumb, since it's probably a common flower and I should probably recognize it. But since I don't, Yahoo! Answers to the rescue!

  • Can House-Flies Get Drunk?

I had a glass of beer out a few minutes ago, I spilled some and there was a small puddle on my desk. A fly landed in the puddle. When I shooed it away, it went "Bzzrrrrrrrm..." and slowly veered toward the ground. Now it's flying around in lazy loop-de-loops at about half speed and smacking into walls and objects. Do I have an over-active imagination, or is the house-fly actually drunk?

Also, can they die from alcohol poisoning?

I guess this is a sort of stupid question, but if they've developed a taste for beer, I would love to pour them a saucer and hasten them toward their happy doom.

  • Do you still think of your pets as baby animals?

I have an elderly pet but I still think of her as if she is a baby animal, even though I know that she is technically older than me in rabbit-years. Do you still think of your dog/cat/whatever as a puppy/kitten, even though they're huge now?

  • Ranks in Basket Weaving?

I'm currently running a game of Dungeons and Dragons with a small group of friends. One of the players is playing a Lawful Good paladin of Cuthbert. All of the players are around Level 20. There's some argument over the fact that he keeps dumping all of his skill points into Profession: Basket Weaving. He feels that, from a character perspective, this is justified, as there are few things more orderly in the world than a basket.

The problem is that the other players are griping about it. Personally, I believe that he ought to be able to dump his skill points into whatever he wants, but I need to come up with something to pacify them.

Does anyone have any ideas for an epic basket-centered campaign?

  • Do you leave your Christmas lights up?

For those who celebrate Christmas, of course...

It's nearing July 4, yet I haven't bothered to change my avatar, so I've still got the one I made with the kitten in the Christmas hat. I've considered drawing a new avatar, but I kind of like Christmas Kitten. Anyway, this feels like the internet equivalent of leaving my Christmas lights up all year round. I didn't put any lights up this year, so they aren't up, but if I had, they still would be... I'm sure.

Do you leave your lights up year round? I mean... it'll eventually be Christmas again, right?

  • SURVEY: Awesome people?

Well, apparently, "Are you awesome?" was not an appropriate question to ask. It got deleted. Poor little awesome question.

So I guess I'll go with a different one:

Who do you know who is awesome? Who is the most awesome person you can think of? Why are they awesome?

I guess if the answer is still yourself, that's cool. I can't be the ultimate judge of awesomeness - I can only be an observer.

  • Survey: Why is this ridiculous?

I asked a simple question, all in good fun, in Polls and Surveys. "Are you awesome"? Theoretically, it was a yes/no question, but it had some pretty good answers. Some of them were amusing. People were happy, and enjoyed answering it. I enjoyed reading their answers.

    So, here's my survey:

Give me your most CREATIVE reasons for why it got deleted. But not just creative! The stupider they are, the better.

Answer quickly, before this question gets removed. The clock is ticking!

  • I seem to have been transported to an alternate dimension?

I woke up this morning to discover that I had somehow been transported to an alternate dimension of fantasy and wonder. I am still becoming accustomed to the presence of magic pervading every aspect of this world, my only tenuous connection with my prior existence being my laptop computer, whose internet connection mysteriously still functions.

My laptop battery is dying, I have taken refuge in a cave, and there is a hungry dragon outside. I am wary of exploring the cave's depths, as they are very dark and I may be eaten by a grue.

    What should I do?

  • What sort of comics do you read?

As a comic book nerd who tends to chat mostly with other comic book nerds who read the same sort of comics, I have to wonder what sorts of comics OTHER people read. I mean, people outside of my little social bubble, beyond the forums and chatrooms that I tend to frequent.

Not specific comics, so much as subject/genre. What do you enjoy reading about? Superheros, vampires, magic, slice-of-life, romance, etc?

It doesn't matter what subject you prefer reading about, I won't make fun of you, even if you're a 40 year old man who mostly reads romance comics. Promise.

What about that particular genre and subject appeals to you the most?

Personally, I prefer fantasy, science fantasy, cyber/steam-punk, and horror, or some fusion of all of these. I like the idea that there are things to discover and places to explore that are beyond the ken of normal human beings, and that people or other creatures could defy the laws of physics and do fantastic things.

  • Does anyone have a photo of a specific motorcycle?

I'm working on a project, and I need to draw the rear of a specific model of motorcycle.

I've been searching all over the Internet for a reference photograph of the rear of a 1988 Kawasaki Ninja 750-R. All I can really find are photos of more recent bikes, and people rarely photograph the back anyway. Is anyone who has access to one of these bikes willing to upload a photo, or even several photos of various angles of the bike? They don't have to be fantastic, just show what it looks like.

I wouldn't post a question like this without first looking high and low, but if you have a link to a photograph of this sort that I haven't been able to find, that would also be appreciated. I don't know anyone who owns one of these motorcycles, or I'd just go and take a look at it in person.

You'll earn my gratitude, and of course it means that I will admire your motorcycle.

  • Do your pets?

My pet rabbit occasionally stops what she's doing and stares at me as if she thinks I'm insane. It makes me feel kind of dumb sometimes, like I've just done something immensely stupid and I'm not sure what.

Do your pets do this to you?

  • Can something be so terrible...?

Can something be so badly done or just straight up terrible that it's almost a transcendental experience? I'm not talking about truly horrific things like child abuse, I'm talking about really really bad horror movies, poorly done websites, or message boards that are a train wreck of spam and bad topics. Even random keyword searches here yield some pretty bizarre results.

I sometimes think that the internet itself is so chaotic and hilarious that it is almost dadaist. Does anyone else feel this way?

  • If you could build a giant robot?

If you could build a giant robot, what would you do with it?

  • Possessed Rabbit?

Recently, my pet rabbit has begun levitating and speaking in tongues. I'm not really sure what to do about this. Someone in an earlier question suggested Audible Lagomorph Syndrome, but I'm wondering if it isn't just a simple demonic possession. I've also had other people say that their rabbits also speak in tongues from time to time, and this is perfectly normal. How can I determine if it's an actual demonic possession, and if so, how do I treat it?

  • I just found out...?

I just found out that my boyfriend can transform into a horrible fiendish monstrosity.

He didn't tell me about this ahead of time, he just sort of sprung it on me. One minute he's his normal, handsome self - the next he has transformed into a hideous man-beast with strange, monstrous limbs.

Not that I'm superficial or obsessed with appearances, but I feel that this may change the nature of our relationship. Am I a bad person for wanting to break up with him?
