If God answers your prayers, why don't you ask for something unselfish in his name and help all the little children of the world with leukemia?

Four people were killed and more than 200 injured in Bangladesh..as hundreds of Islamists clashed with police in Dhaka and other major cities demanding execution of “atheist bloggers” they accused of blasphemy.

Their banner says, ‘ We demand the death penalty for atheist bloggers because they use obscene language to criticize Allah, Muhammad and the Quran.’The banner carries the pictures of atheist bloggers. Asif Mohiuddin is among them. Asif was brutally stabbed by the Islamists a month ago.

The second richest person in the world, Bill Gates, has given over $26 billion to charity. The third richest person in the world, Warren Buffet, has pledged 99% of his wealth to charity. Both are Atheists. Yet, Atheists are the least trusted group in America? Is this well founded or just plain prejudice?

Muslims suicide bombers. Christian abortion clinic bombers. These are real issues we struggle with today. Is Atheism the cure for these acts?

There is a church in Fruitland Park, Florida called Restoration Fellowship Ministries International with the the clergy of the Bishop Lance Travis and Pastor Tina Travis. This is how they describe themselves:

Can anyone give me an operational definition for the word exists such that I can use it to tell the difference between a god that does exist and one that doesn't?

Abdel Aziz Mohamed Albaz was arrested recently in Kuwait on charges of blasphemy. Whether you are an Atheist or a Muslim or a Christian, nobody deserves to be jailed or punished for having atheistic views. He did not hurt anybody. He did not steal, he did not assault anyone, he did not vandalize someone's property. He is simply a well articulated Egyptian Atheist who speaks his mind.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled, That at such time as new dies for the printing of currency are adopted in connection with the current program of the Treasury Department to increase the capacity of presses utilized by the Bureau of Engraving and Printing, the dies shall bear, at such place or places thereon as the Secretary of the Treasury may determine to be appropriate, the inscription ``In God We Trust´´, and thereafter this inscription shall appear on all United States currency and coins.

The "godless" communist scare is over. Isn't it time to repeal this law?

My neighbor claims that he telepathically communicates with a being from another dimension named Spiny Norman, who will suspend the laws of nature for him if he asks, but only if Spiny approves of his behavior and the request fits into Spiny's plans. Is this guy nuts?

1. Prostate gland encircles the urethra, swells with age closing the urethra off resulting in the inability to pee.

2. Lens in the eye stiffens and darkens with use making the owner slowly go blind as they age.

3. Sperm cannot survive the temperature of a mammal's body requiring male gonads to be outside of the body.

Where is the intelligence in these designs? No first year engineering students would make these mistakes yet an all-knowing God would? Either these are just flukes of evolution, or the creator God sucks at design. Which do you choose?

Say a friend is going in for surgery and I say to him, “I have my fingers crossed for you!” If I mean by this that I am thinking of him, and hope his surgery goes well, then this makes it just a saying. But if I actually cross my fingers and expect that it will influence the outcome, then it is a superstition, unless of course that it does really affect the outcome. But, I can test it. I can wish that all child leukemia patients are cured today, and no new cases ever appear again, and cross my fingers on it and see what happens. Well, I tried it and it did not work. Does this mean that it is just a silly superstition?

Two preliminary thoughts on this issue. First, Sanford, FL in predominately Protestant Christian, without regard to race. Second, racism is simply believing that you are better than someone else based on "race.". It is interesting to see how different religions treat this idea.

Take Buddhism: A belief that you are better than anyone else is identified as one reason that causes our own suffering. If we indulge in it, we will suffer in this world, and if we don't change our ways, we will suffer for eternity for it. It also causes others to suffer. The only way to escape eternal suffering is by helping others to escape suffering, so, this is a double whammy. In Buddhism, we have to eliminate prejudice and racism to obtain eternal peace.

Contrast this with Christianity: "Love thy neighbor as thy self." What are the consequences if we do/don't? If we don't, are we damned to an eternity of suffering? Nope. Believing in Jesus, and that he died for our sins, is enough to ensure eternal peace. So what if we listen to Jesus and stop our racism? We are seen in the eyes of God as a better person. So, the reward for not believing you are better than other people is you get to believe that you are better than other people.

The people of Sanford, Florida are taught from birth that they are better than other people, because they are Christian. They are also taught that they are better than other Christians if they follow the teachings of Jesus more closely than others. Why now are we surprised because people there think they are better than other people, or think that other people think they are better than them? It is obviously part of their culture, part of their religion, to do so.

"I hope you find happiness in the path you choose, and can find this same compassion for those that choose a different path."

In the US Declaration of Independence it says something to the effect of "..endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable rights..." which include life and liberty. If these are God given rights, then it is immoral to deprive someone of them, right? If so, then when we incarcerate or execute someone for breaking the law, aren't we being immoral?

Take a close look at those considered prophets in the past. Didn't they hold a view that was contrary to established religions of the time? Didn't they have a relatively small following that took centuries to grow? Weren't they considered blasphemers by the established religious organizations and their members? Doesn't this sound a lot like the atheists of today?

With all the concern for global warming, this article suggests we may be entering a mini ice age due to a lack of solar activity.

If there was nothing before God created the Universe, then God must be nothing, non-existent. If God did exist, then the Universe must be God because the Universe didn't come out of nothing, it came out of God. So which is it? God is nothing, or the Universe is God?

According to the first creation story in Genesis, it took God six days to create Heaven and Earth. If He is all-powerful, they why did it take so long? Why couldn't he get it done in a few nanoseconds?
