Mushroom Syringes in Massachusetts?
I'm wondering if mushroom syringes (psilocybin) are legal to possess in Massachusetts. Mushrooms are illegal but syringes don't contain psilocybin. Looked on other sites but can't find much.
4 AnswersBoston10 years agoRight Index Finger Numbness?
My right index finger turns white (half the time), very cold, and slightly numb. The rest of my fingers on my right hand are warm and regular colored (red or skin colored). When I press against something with the finger, it stays at that shape for 10-30 seconds before forming my original finger's shape. This used to happen when I smoked cigarettes (pack a day), but I only smoke 2 a day at this point. My question is why is it only my right index finger?
1 AnswerOther - General Health Care10 years agoMilitary Health/Draft Hypothetical Question?
I wanted to join the National Guard or the Army Reserves but they rejected me for medical reasons in which I had repaired at age 12. My question is, hypothetical, if there was a draft (which won't happen for awhile) would they recruit people that they previously rejected? Such as my situation like health problems that were previously fixed (heart problems, flat feet, height restrictions, etc.)

2 AnswersYahoo Answers10 years agoGabapentin? (medication question)?
I'm on Lorazepam and 75mg of Effexor XR for panic disorder, worked fine. Still had slight social anxiety, doctor tried me on Celexa, Cymbalta, etc, all had horrible side effects. Went back on Effexor and had slight pain in my side, and he gave me Gabapentin (900 mg a day)?? This is a anti-seizure medication and has slight pain relieving effects. I told him that when i took more than my regular dosage or Lorazepam I felt fine..but why Gabapentin???
1 AnswerMental Health10 years agoLorazepam vs. other benzodiazapine?
I've been on Effexor XR (75mg( for panic/anxiety) and Ativan (0.5mg). Has anybody switched from Lorazepam (Ativan) to clonazepam or zanax? I've been on Ativan (.5mg) for a few months and need something stronger. Should I get a stronger Ativan (1 or 2mg) or a different benzodiazepine?
1 AnswerAlternative Medicine10 years agoEffexor XR vs. Pristiq (Panic Disorder/Anxiety)?
I've been on Effexor XR (75mg) for a few months and it's completely gotten rid of all my panic attacks, which is absolutely amazing. The only downside is insomnia (I've tried mirtazapine and trazadone, both don't work). My Psychiatrist wants to put me on Pristiq, and he explained it as a more purified form of Effexor, with less side effects. I've researched it and it seems to be a synthetic form of Effexor, which is fine by me as long as it works. I have panic disorder, social anxiety, and general anxiety disorder (mostly panic disorder though). Anybody tried Pristiq that has also tried Effexor for anxiety?
4 AnswersMental Health10 years agoEffexor & Beta-blockers possible?
I'm on 75mg of Effexor extended release for panic disorder/social anxiety. My psychiatrist has tried trazadone and mirtazapine (for sleep). The next step is to change the Effexor. Beta-blockers would stop social anxiety, but sleep would still be a problem (maybe?). I recently started working out twice a day (lifting/cardio, cardio of off-lifting days),and am quite tired. My real question is if I can mix beta-blockers (like propranolol) and Effexor? I want to ask my psychiatrist, just wondering if anybody else tried it.
2 AnswersMental Health10 years agoBorn in the wrong century?
I love 40-60's music, especially Frank Sinatra. I love wearing suits, and well..I love everything about the 50's. I'm 21 now, and hell I feel out of place. If I could I'd go back in time. If could..I'd do it my way :P . Anybody feel this?
10 AnswersHistory10 years agoMilitary with Heart Condition?
I was born with an ASD (Atrial Septal Defect [Hole in top of heart]) and a VSD (Ventricular Septal Defect [Hole in bottom of heart]). I would like to join either the National Guard or the Army Reserves. My question is if they reject people with these heart conditions?. I have slightly elevated heart rate (90 bpm) but I'm in shape (7 minute mile, 72 sit ups in a minute, 48 pushups in a minute). I'm 20 years old and would love to serve my country. Haven't visited my recruiter because it's a hell of a lot paperwork, and wold be a waste of my time if they reject me. Any input?
1 AnswerHeart Diseases10 years agoVenlafaxine (Effexor) hangover?
I take 75mg of venlafaxine extended release a day. When I drink heavily, the next day the hangover is..strange. No headache or sickness which is great but different, but I have the feeling of muscle weakness in my arms. It's the only hangover effect, no matter how much I drink. Can anybody explain this?
1 AnswerMental Health10 years agoNicotine only when drinking?
I smoked cigarettes for 7 years and quit, I also packed chewing tobacco throughout those 7 years. Recently I've been chewing and smoking again, but only when drinking. I don't even have the urge to when I'm sober. Anybody else have this experience? Definitely not complaining, just wondering.
2 AnswersBeer, Wine & Spirits10 years agoI need help, Effexor/Mirtazapine?
I've been on anti-depressants and I don't have suicidal thoughts, but I have homicidal thoughts. I feel like I should tell my psychologist yet I feel like he will institutionalize me. I've recently been prescribed to Mirtazapine (15mg) and have been on 75mg of Effexor. I need input.
3 AnswersMental Health10 years agoUnmountable_boot_volume, Windows Vista?
I have Windows Vista on a work computer with error #10008 I believe, Unmountable_boot_volume. My laptop is a HP Pavilion dv6700. I've tried Safe Mode in all modes (networking and command prompt), and every other option. I've tried a recovery disc (not owned by Microsoft), but everything I've tried ends up with nothing. It turns to a blue screen for 3 seconds where I can barely read the first line. I'm thinking it's a hard drive failure, but can't be too sure. Any help? If it is a hard drive failure is it cheaper to just buy another HP with Windows 7 or install another hard drive? (Laptop is about 3 years old)
3 AnswersLaptops & Notebooks10 years agoConstant Heart Palipations?
I've already visited my cardiologist. I've had 3 open hear surgeries and they said that it's normal for people under my condition (Atrial Septic Disorder & Ventricular Septic Disorder; in other words holes in 2 parts of the heart). Has anybody else here had similar palpitations. My question is how long does it usually last for you? I usually only have 1 palpitation at a time, but sometimes it's a series of 5-20 in a row. Anything similar?
1 AnswerHeart Diseases10 years agoLorazepam (Ativan) street value?
How much is Lorazepam (Ativan) worth per 1mg. I'm not selling it, just wondering. I figured 1mg/$1. Any input?
6 AnswersAlternative Medicine10 years agoPanic disorder vs Depression?
I had my first panic attack in march, which was almost life threatening. My heart rate was 230, and I've had multiple heart surgeries. Recently I've been put on Effexor extended release, which has helped a lot, seeing as though I have not had any panic attacks. The thing is, I don't know whether I'm depressed or just having side effects of the Effexor. Since I was 15 I had smoked marijuana everyday, and didn't quit until I received that first panic attack. To be honest I don't remember what it is to be in a normal state of mind. I don't know whether I'm depressed or just..I don't know. I still have slight anxiety so become nervous when talking to my psychologist. Do I tell him I'm depressed? Because I don't know if I am or not.Like I said I haven't had a panic attack, which is great. On the other side I can't go out with people without being nervous and well..down. Alcohol helps but I'd rather not self-prescribe alcohol..it just leads down bad paths. Please don't leave comments about how I shouldn't drink..I'm in college, I'm going to party. I just want to know I anybody has gone through panic disorder/perhaps depression. I'm on Effexor 75mg a day. I tried Celexa and it was horrible. Any input would be a great help. (Never taken suicide as an option, it's never an option)
5 AnswersMental Health10 years agoDrinking on Venlafaxine (Effexor)?
I take 75mg of venlafaxine extended release once a day. I'm in college so obviously I'm drinking quite often. I feel like when I do drink, I'm just wondering if anybody knows if alcohol interferes with what Effexor does for panic disorder..besides the obvious 'drowsiness'. The drowsiness doesn't affect me when I drink, I'm just wondering if it has any other problematic combination effects. I do not drink within 2 hours of taking the Effexor. To be honest the worst part is the hangover..which weirdly isn't as bad as when I wasn't on it lol. Any thoughts?
