  • I have a question about teething...?

My son is 13 months old, and still only has 4 teeth(the top two center, and the bottom two center). The top 2 teeth don't seem to be popped out all the way either, and he started getting them in at about 10 or 11 months. I read that he should have 6-8 teeth by now. Has anyone else had their child's teeth come out late? And, has it caused any problems for your child?

  • Help with kitchen remodel...?

My husband and I are getting our kitchen re-modeled, and I have a question about the tile. We are getting granite counter tops, and tile floors. My question is about the backsplash. The counter tops are a black granite with blue/greenish flecks, with some tan flecks too, the floor tile is a earth tone beige. How do we match our backsplash? Should we match it to the floor or to the counter tops? I was thinking earth toned glass mosaic tiles, possibly with black glass tiles in there too. Any suggestions?

  • 8 month old feeding....?

My son will be 8 months old in a few days. He's been on baby food and baby cereal for a few months now, and we've started introducing finger foods to him lately as well. He's always had a bottle of formula before naps and at bed time. However, lately, he WILL NOT drink formula...warm, cold, in a bottle, in a cup...it doesn't matter. He will not drink it. Has anyone else experienced this? And, what did you do when your l.o. refused to eat? Should I feed him more solids to make up for this? Should I continue to try to give him formula, even though he refuses to drink it? It's too early to switch to whole milk, but Idk what else to do. Any advise from moms or dads would be helpful. Thanks.

Oh...he's not sick, and he's still active and wetting diapers.

  • Has anyone had this problem?

My son is a little over 6 months old, and hasn't really been exposed to other babies yet. Today, I took him to a family members house. This family member has two little girls, one is going to be 3 and the other is a year old. My son seemed to be afraid of the other children, especially the 3 year old. He cried when I put him down, and he cried when the 3 year old came near him. Has anyone elses child reacted like this to other children? And, how can I get him so that he is okay on play dates?

  • Does anyone else get headaches and nausea after exercise?

Lately, I've been getting a headache and a little bit nauseous after exercising. It only lasts about 15-20 minutes. I was wondering if anyone else has ever had this, and if anyone has any suggestions about what to do about it. Do I need more water? Do I need to breathe better while I excercise? Should I eat something specific to help?

  • stuffy nose question...?

My son is almost 6 months old, and he has a stuffy nose. He doesn't have a fever or any other cold symptoms, just a stuffy nose. I believe that it's from the dry, winter air and the heat in our house. Anyway, I've been putting baby nose drops in his nose often, there's a humidifier in his bedroom, and I've started using baby Vix rub on his chest to help him. However, it seems like nothing is really working. Does anyone have any other suggestions as to help my son with his dry, stuffy nose? Also, I've tried the nasal aspirator a few times after the nose drops and nothing's coming out(because it's a dry, stuffy nose).

  • I have a quesion about a family member...?

I have someone in my family that always lets me know how much she misses my son, as if I'm keeping my son from them. I find it strange because I told this person that they are welcome to stop by any time and visit if they see our car in the driveway. We only live a few minutes from each other, and I feel that if this person misses my son so much that they should be the one to make the effort to come and visit. This person is not elderly or disabled, so she has the capability to travel the five minutes. This person also sends gifts to my son in the mail, instead of just bringing the gift over. Is it me, or is this a little strange? This person also signs cards to my son as "we" love you...with the we in quotations. I'm not sure what that means...LOL. They have signed things like that a few different times, and I don't understand why the "we" is in quotations. Does anyone have any insight on this situation?

  • question about baby rolling over...?

My son is 5 months old. He started rolling over about a month and a half ago. He was rolling over all the time, but for the past week or so he hasn't been nearly as much. Has anyone else experienced this? I was just wondering if this is common, and if so, why?

  • Baby and solids..........?

My son is 5 months old, and is eating stage 1 baby foods and baby cereal(he has been for about a month). Any suggestions on when it would be okay to give him a teething biscuit or something like that to suck/gum on? I had someone tell me that it's okay for him to have that now, but I just wanted some other momma's opinions. Thanks. :)

  • Question about baby bottles...?

I've been using Phillips Avent bottles for my 4 1/2 month old son, and he likes them. The problem is that they leak a lot. I've tried Playtex drop ins, but he doesn't like them, and you also can't put them into a bottle warmer. Does anyone have any suggestions on a good BPA free plastic bottle that doesn't leak? I'm getting tired of taking the nipples off of the bottles a millions times to try to get them to stop leaking, only to have them leak anyway. Thanks.

  • Question about feeding a baby solids....?

I just started my son on cereal 4 days ago. I keep reading to feed him one cereal feeding a day(as well as his bottles), and then increase cereal to twice a day. How long should I feed him the one feeding of cereal before increasing it to two feedings? And...after the that, when should I start introducing other foods to him?

  • menstration after childbirth.........?

I had my son Sept. 8th, and got my period when he was 7 weeks old, and have not yet gotten it again and it's going on almost 5 weeks now. I took a pregnancy test, and that was negative. Is it normal to skip periods, or have irregular periods after childbirth, even if you're not breastfeeding? I know that breastfeeding can mess with your cycle, but I'm not breastfeeding.

  • Does anyone have any suggestions????

I have a 2 1/2 month old son. He loves to sleep in the baby sling, and he'll nap there until I wake him up. He will sleep in his crib at night, but wakes up if I try to put him in his crib for a nap during the day. I have tried putting him to bed during the day the same way that I do at night, so that he associates this routine with sleep, but it doesn't work. Does anyone have any suggestions on getting my son to take a good nap in his crib, instead of in the baby sling?

  • 2 questions about period after birth...?

I had my baby 7 weeks ago. I breast fed for only about a week. I was wondering when I should be getting my period back(not that I'm in a rush to have it)? The bleeding after giving birth ended around 4 weeks, but yesterday I spotted a tiny bit. Is that normal?

  • How much formula should a one month old drink?

My son will be 5 weeks old tomorrow. He usually eats between 2-3 ounces of formula at a time, but lately he seems to want more at some feedings. I have been giving him another ounce when he still seems hungry. Is four ounces a lot for a 5 week old to be eating?
