5 AnswersAdolescent9 years agomy 14 year old has been caught shoplifting...punishment advice?
It's not like she didn't have the money to pay for it; it was a $5 eye shadow from a grocery store. When asked why, she says a "friend" suggested it would be fun to try. (that friend has since moved to Fla) I have already taken her phone & ipod away, and she is grounded until whenever ( at least Christmas). I am at a loss, even grounding her from wearing wearing makeup, since that's what she was trying to steal. She is otherwise a good kid, a & b student. I am physically ill over this whole situation. (she says she is sorry and ashamed) How do I get past this? and does the punishment fit the crime?
6 AnswersAdolescent9 years agoabout kids tv show auditions/ disney channel?
Is it a scam? I don't really understand why you have to pay the $1500 for them to register you if you get picked for the showcase rehearsals & show. If you get into the show, then the agents can sign you from there, but what is the $1500 up front for? just the opportunity? What if you DON"T get signed by an agent? are you just out of that money, or do you get it back? are there other fees involved too?
3 AnswersComedy9 years agoAny ideas what to do with scraps from wallpaper books?
My mom picked up a few wallpaper sample books when the hardware store was getting rid of them, with the intentions of using some of the designs in scrapbook pages. What else can we do with them?

They are expected to do do some housework, like each of them cleans the each of the litter boxes once a week (total 2x each), putting away their own laundry, cleaning their rooms, keeping the dining & living rooms clean, cleaning up after themselves. Any suggestions for monetary penalties for not doing specific chores? Thanks a bunch!

3 AnswersDogs1 decade agoWhen buying a house from an owner vs an agent, what out of pocket expenses are we looking at?
We found a house we want, and it's for sale by owner. Who pays for inspections & appraisals? I assume we pay for closing costs-what does that include when buying from an owner?

5 AnswersProgramming & Design1 decade agowhere do I report a doctor's office/ billing dept for possible overcharging/ misbilling?
My doctor's billing practices seem shady. We are still getting charged for stuff after insurance has paid, and insurance is paying them, but they are not putting it towards our bill until 2-3 weeks later. Their bills are written out so they are hard to understand; instead of listing each date of service with services provided separately, they are written as multiple service dates under one item. (I hope that makes sense) Insurance says we should only have to pay a certain amount, but the dr says we owe different. And when I send them a check, it gets split up into small amounts to pay for individual things, even on different dates. Example: a $30 check : $2.29 for lab A on Jan 21; $4.53 for lab b on feb 13. , etc. (shouldn't it all go towards the same billing date, oldest first?)
Am I wrong to want them to send me a bill that says you were here on this day, we did this work, and you owe us this much for it? Every Dr's office that we've been to before doesn't group things together if they were done on different days.
And if insurance says "you should only be responsible for x amount", shouldn't the dr's office records match? (they always say we owe more)v
I am so frustrated with this office, we've switched to a whole different system that bills NORMALLY.

I found 2 of what I believe to be half pennies (I think that's what Dad said they're called). They are so rusty, though, I can't tell. Is there any way to clean them up enough without damaging them even more?
8 AnswersHobbies & Crafts1 decade agoI want to move a light fixture. Question about the wire?
The house is 117 years old with plaster walls & ceiling, so the wiring will be outside the wall, covered by a channel. I want to change an ugly light fixture that's on the wall to a newer, nicer one on the ceiling. I've got the wiring and light. Is the single copper wire in each strand the same as the many tiny strands of copper wire in each? The wire the guy at the hardware store gave me is Romex 14/2. Do I need to put a junction box inside the light collar where I join the wires, or is it ok up against the ceiling?
