  • What area of Behavioral Health best deals with childhood trauma? ?

I recently became aware of a very destructive pattern in my life. It has lead to many years of turmoil and sadness. I now as an adult see that childhood of abuse lead to me hating myself, having no self-esteem, de-valuing myself and always settling. I ready to tackle this head on. I don't think a run of the mill family therapist would suffice. Would it be best to seek a therapist, psychologist or psychiatrist?

  • Is there etiquette concerning a Housewarming registry? ?

I recently became a first time home owner. As I was packing up my old home a friend asked if there would be a housewarming registry. Since I wasn't able to have a formal housewarming due to Covid-19 I said I didn't think so. She persisted and said Target had housewarming registries. Told her I would take a look. She proceeded to pester me every time we spoke asking if I had set up the registry. Finally I did set it up and told her it was completed. She said she would take a look. Well rather than buy me a gift off my registry she brought me something that wasn't even on it, a virtual Target Gift card. She couldn't even be bothered to look at my registry. Don't get me wrong, I'm grateful for the gift card but it makes no sense to me why she would insist on a registry being created, then buy nothing off of it.

  • How do I find out the owner of a car if all I have is the license plate number?

I just brought a new home and parked in my private driveway is someone else's vehicle. I have no idea who this vehicle belongs to. I called the police they gave the vehicle ticket and told me to wait 24 hours to have it towed. I would like to give the owner the opportunity to retrieve it but I have no idea who they are. Does anyone know of any free ways I can track down the owner is?

  • Can you make a pound cake without baking powder or milk?

A lady in my church submitted a recipe for a pound cake. However, her recipe didn't include milk or baking powder, just flour, sugar, butter and eggs.

  • How many times can you follow up after an interview without looking like a stalker?

11/9/17 I had what I believed was a great interview for a cust svc role. The next day I sent thank you emails to the Hiring Manager and the HR Liaison.

11/13/17 I get a call from the HR Liaison telling me they are moving forward with me as a candidate but there's a question about my resume. There is position listed and they need to know if it was through an agency. I tell them that it was and proceed to provide the name, address and phone number of the agency.

11/14/17 I receive a VM from a 3rd party vendor, they do background checks for this job. The agency has not responded to their request so I'm asked if I have a W-2 from 2011 (this is when I worked for the agency) surprisingly I do and I forward that to them.

11/15/17 they acknowledge receipt of the W-2

11/16/17 I receive an email from HR asking for the same W-2. I tell them I already submitted it to their 3rd party vendor but then proceed to provide to them as well.

11/20/17 I email HR & ask if they have gotten everything they need & where are we in the hiring process.

11/21/17 A totally different person from HR calls me & wants to know when did I receive my BA degree & I give them the exact date & offer to send them a copy of the degree, they don't think that is necessary.

I've heard nothing else since 11/21/17. Would I be a pest if I were to reach out to HR again and ask if they need anything else and where are we in the hiring process?

  • Moral dilemma, what would you do?

I applied for a job at my local utility company. I was told I needed to complete and pass testing first before an interview could be scheduled. I did the testing and passed. Then I was told they needed to make sure I had no outstanding bills. I called them myself and was told I owed nothing. 3 days later I get a phone call, they have found 3 outstanding bills that were written off over 15 years ago. I need to bring these bills to zero before they will interview. Now and interview doesn't necessarily mean I will get hired. Also, I'm disputing these bills because they never tried to collect on them before now. To me honest I didn't know they existed. Part of me wants to pay them if they are truly owed but what if they end up and not even hire me or worse yet I didn't truly owe them?

  • I filed for unemployment it was denied. I won on appeal. How long does it usually take to get the weeks owed to me back.?

I was let go from my job the end of May. After 8 weeks I was denied unemployment. I appealed the decision and waited another 6 weeks for a hearing. The hearing occurred and my employer was a no show. The employer's entire case against me was thrown out. My lawyer felt confident that the hearing would be decided in my favor. If decided in my favor how long do I have to wait to have the back weeks of compensation given to me?

  • Rather than waiting till the age of 65 to start collecting on a pension, can it be cashed out due to extenuating circumstances?

I worked for a company 11 years before being laid off in 2011. I had earned a pension that I would be eligible to start collecting on when I turned 65. Although the thought of having something in my retirement sounds good I am in dire straits now. I lost my last job 2 months ago. I was denied unemployment. I am currently without income, having gone through what little savings I had. I am facing eviction, car repossession and utility shut offs. Under these circumstances is there a legal way I can opt to cash out the pension? Thank you.

  • What is pre-litigation?

I recently reached out to a law firm to represent me in unlawful firing from my job. After an hour long intake they agreed to take my case. However, when I got the retainer paperwork there was a section stating they would only represent me in the pre-ligation process. They do not agree to represent me should I end up having to sue.

Of course I asked them what this meant but I got the voice mail and am awaiting a call back.

So what does pre-ligation entail? I've honestly never heard the term before. Thanks in advance.

  • Throwing a 50th birthday party but wanting to invite church and non-church people.?

I would like to throw myself a 50th birthday party. I am very active in my church and as such would like to invite my church members. However, I have several family members who are non-church goers. Of course I would like to invite them too. I want a party that is classy but not worldly yet not boring. Any suggestions on how to appease the church as well as the non-church folks and still have a good party?

  • Is there a legal way to find out what social security awarded someone?

My daughter receives child support from her dad. It has always been a huge struggle to get him to pay. As such he is currently $16,000 in the arrears. Last year he became disabled and unable to work. He now collects disability. The courts order disability to deduct a huge amount from his check to pay the back child support. He went to court to have it stopped. He now refuses to provide to me and the courts the actual amount that he was awarded yet is firm in not wanting to pay anything. Is there a way to find out what he was awarded?

  • Is there a way to get out of financing agreement when you have been treated poorly by the company?

I used a company to exterminate my home for bed bugs. They did a horrible job and I ended up having to hire another company.

With the 2nd company I agreed to 12 month financing.

The 2nd company got rid of the bed bugs but their customer service was poor. Technicians showing up late or not at all, zero flexibility in scheduling, not giving me services promised, not returning my calls, getting the runaround, being promised call backs from the branch office and no one ever calling.

I don’t mind paying for good service and they did get rid of the bed bugs but I treated so poorly in the process. Under the circumstances is there any way I could negotiate paying a lesser amount. I’m not trying to get out of not paying, really I’m not but I was treated so bad.

  • Can I sue an exterminator if my home remains infested after the treatment?

My home had bedbugs. I got rid of all the infected furniture and called a company I was already using for pest services. Bed bugs was not part of my plan. They offered no discounts eventhough I was already customer. I did everything they told me do to prepare for the treatments. I paid them $1001.32. 2 months and 4 treatments later the bed bugs are even worse than before the treatments. The company refuses to provide anymore treatments. They want another $667 on top of what I already paid. I don't trust them. Do I have grounds to sue?

  • What is an acceptable amount for a gift certificate for a wedding when you only know the bride casually and groom not at all?

I was invited to a wedding. I know the bride casually from church. I don't know the groom at all. The bride came to a birthday party for me and came empty handed.

  • What are the key differences between a Facebook Page and a Facebook Group?

I recently became the President of one of the groups in my church. I would like to create a place on Facebook where members of the group can come together to exchange ideas. Trying to decide what would work best, creating a page or creating a group or both. Thank you.
