  • I need help with preparing a first time garden bed using the no till/no dig method..and is there enough sun?

I currently have a small 5x6' raised bed full of compost growing tomatoes, squash, watermelon, corn, okra, and green beans.. I'd like to expand, for next spring to have a larger, maybe 20x10 or so no dig garden bed, without board borders.. . The area I have in mind is covered in thick dense grass and I'm not sure if it gets enough sun for a garden. How can I determine if it gets enough sun and what do I do with the grass? I'd like to transplant the grass to my front yard where there are sandy areas with no grass? Will it grow there? How do I keep the grass from creeping back into my no dig/no till garden bed when I remove the grass I don't want?

  • How can I remove grease and smoke buildup from a 50 year old wood dining table and chairs?

My husband and I were given an antique wooden dining table with four chairs from his grandmother, a HEAVY smoker. She is 60+ and has smoked since she was 18 and has had the table since she was 20.. I tried using Murphy's oil soap and hot water, and I washed the table and chairs TWICE with a rag with a scrubber around it.. the water turned black every time. I rinsed with hot water, and the water still turned black. When I rinsed the furniture, there was a white film and yellow gunk coming off the chairs.. and they were STILL sticky and yucky.. how can I clean them without harming the wood? Please hurry, we'd actually love to be able to use them in our dining room, but can't stand sticking to a chair, and leaving fuzz from our clothes on a grimy chair.

  • I am having problems with my YouTube account. I can't sign in!?

I have had a YouTube account for a year. When we got a new computer, I tried to log in with my original account and it kept telling me that there was an "authorization error" so I decided to just create a new account. To this date, I have attempted to create new accounts and I CAN NOT DO IT!. Every time I try, I get to the confirmation email step and then I do what it says, and then I use my username and password and hit enter/submit/login, whatever its called, and will you believe it just GOES BACK TO THE LOGIN PAGE, Doesn't even acknowledge my existing account. And NO the passwords and usernames are not correct, I have tried resetting passwords to make sure, and it won't even let me do that! Please help. I am getting really frustrated.

  • How can I felt over soap using angora rabbit wool?

I've been making soap for a little over a year now and a friend of mine, who raises angora rabbits, recently sent me some fiber and instructed me to try "felting" over soap.. I watched a couple of YouTube videos and felt okay with trying it, except.. it did not turn out like I hoped. Probably because every video I could find used FLEECE. I was TOLD that angora wool could be used, but HOW? I can't find a single bit of information regarding using angora wool for wet felting soap..Please help!

  • How can I make hot process soaps with natural colors and fragrances in a crock pot?

I am a novice soapmaker, and have made cold process soaps for about a year now.. I am no stranger to experiments, and I became interested in hot process soaps after seeing some of Nancy Today's YouTube videos-I love that woman! I bet I'll end up like that when I get to be as *young as her! Anyway, I want to make some hot process soap in an old crockpot, and I would like to use botanicals, herbs, essential oils, and natural plant/mineral dyes. Any information/assisstance in this topic is greatly appreciated and welcome!! Thanks!

  • How can I make and heat a small outdoor greenhouse for starting seeds for under $30?

I live in zone 7 and I am having difficulty starting seeds in my new home, due to inadequate lighting. I found easy and affordable plans to make a 5'x5' portable greenhouse for under $25 made with plastic sheeting and pvc pipe. My question is, how can I make that plan work to start seeds to transplant size, outdoors, where there will be adequate lighting. I need to be able to get it warm, I know, but what will be the cheapest way? I thought of raised beds, with fresh manure-hotbed style, and layering glass or plexiglass over the seeds to create air pockets to trap heat. Any suggestions? I am in zone 7.
