Hit the side of my head getting into my car. What should I do?
A few hours ago I was getting into my car and I hit the right side of my head. It hurt pretty badly at first and I still have a bit of a headache, but I took an Ibuprofen. No concussion symptoms, and I'm hoping the headache will go away pretty soon. Should I just wait it out if it doesn't get worse?
6 AnswersPain & Pain Management8 years agoA question for the college and post-college guys...?
how is your relationship with your parents and siblings now?
and for those of you who are out of college: how is that relationship compared to how it was in college?
a little background:
I'm 14, and I have two brothers, who are 19 and 20. the one who is 20 is cynical regarding anything sentimental. he is not very family -oriented, even though most of the rest of us are. i recently figured out that he has been smoking, so i asked him about it. he says he only does it when he really stressed about school (he's really smart, and takes a full load of classes year-round), and so he promised me that it was nothing to worry about. i finally got sick of being the only one who knew, and so i told my dad. he promised to talk to me before he talks to my brother, so i'll know when he asks him about it. I feel like my brother is a tomb bomb waiting to explode, and when he does, he'll be gone for good. It's a really strong feeling that how my parents react will determine his future relationship with all of us. Don't think we are crazy over-protective relatives; we're not.
Anyway, I'm wondering what all of you think about this. Thanks so much!

4 AnswersMovies1 decade agoGiving my first piano lesson...?
My aunt recently asked me to give her piano lessons. She played a little when she was about my age (I'm 14), and picked it up again a few years ago. I'm wondering how to do the first lesson- should I just have her do some scales, etc, and then have her try out a few pieces that I found? I went through all my old music and picked out a bunch of standards and favorites of all levels, plus some I especially enjoyed. Or is there something else I should do? Tips?
Thanks!

2 AnswersPolls & Surveys1 decade agoSuggestions on writing satire...?!?
I'm writing a satirical paper on why all middle school students should be required to complete one year of a foreign language, and it's going okay, but I sound more bitter and cynical than humorous. I'm writing it from the opposite viewpoint, and I'm completely stuck.
Any suggestions? Specifically on making it funny?
Thanks so much!
1 AnswerHomework Help1 decade agoencouragement please.....?
I'm looking for some advice and encouragement from Christians specifically, but all answers are greatly appreciated!
I help out at a soup kitchen, and there is a girl who goes with her mom. She is one year younger than me, and we go to the same school. Since I was the one nearest her age at the soup kitchen, she kind of latched onto me. I have seen her around school, and she doesn't really have any friends. When she asked me for my phone number, I figured, hey, why not. Jesus spent his time with the outcasts and the ones no one hung out with, and so I can do this one small thing. So I gave her my phone number, and now she calls me all the time. I do my best, but sometimes my patience wears a little thin, but I do my best not to show it. Anyway, I hug her in the halls (and get crud from other students for it), have gone to sporting events with her, and talk on the phone for loooong periods of time. Yesterday, my pastor preached a sermon on compassion and reaching out, and it kind of enforced how I feel. But she invited me to go to her church with her on Wednesday night, and I am wondering if you all it is my...."duty", I guess, to go and be her friend or if I can maybe decline the invite. The thing is, and I know this is terrible, but a lot of my friends go to the same church and I don't know if I really want to have to face a night of that. I didn't know that's where she went until a day ago, so maybe I can talk to them about talking to her there.
I know this is bad, but it's true; this girl has the type of personality that is really hard to deal with for longer than about 10 minutes. So I guess I'm just looking for some third-party opinions and encouragement. Thanks so much!!!

8 AnswersPregnancy1 decade agoChristians(and Mormons)....a question about Mormonism....?
I am a Christian, and recently I have been thinking a lot about Mormonism. I mean, i don't know if I believe that God gave Joseph Smith that vision but I certainly don't doubt that God would give someone a vision if He wanted to...
I have a good friend who is Mormon, and when I have been with her family when they read the Scriptures and pray it is so real and honest and genuine.
I guess I was just wondering what everyone thought of the differences, etc.
serious answers only please :)
