  • Would you go and be a colonist on a new Planet?

    Assumption:

Earth builds a Spaceship and a suitable planet if found. Colonists would spend 100 Years in suspended sleep until they arrive and start colonizing. Everyone can sign up.

Would you go and colonize a far away planet, knowing that you never could come back and that the target planet may not be THAT good?

    Why? Why not?

  • Would it theoretical have been possible for Japan to drive an attack toward Russian thought China/ Mongolia?

    READ IT ALL please

I know that the Japanese did not consider attacking Russian in 1941 and that they later had not the resources to do so. I’m also aware of the coded radio messages form Tokio to Moskau by the Sorge Spy rind and that they where ignored by Stalin.

A friend of mine (he plays Axes vs. Allies a lot) can up with the theoretical point that if Japan would have launched and attack toward Russian, binding Russian forces and allowing Nazi Germany to gain more ground, that the WW2 would have turned out with a win for the Axes.

I’m having problems with the argument as I can’t see Japan land forces being strong enough to push thought China (maybe Mongolia) as I think that they would soon run into problems with there supply lines. Also I consider the terrain not favourable for any advances.

What I’m looking for are real arguments in regards of terrain, supply train, ground forces etc.

  • Is Whale Kosher? (Read it)?

Looking at the latest news from Japan:

    http://science.slashdot.org/science/08/03/13/17102...

a friend ask me if Whale is actually kosher....looking at Leviticus 11:3-12... I stared wondering:

A Whale is not actually a Fish but a mammal...

I know that Wiki (and other Inet sources) say Whale and Dolphin are not Kosher...but on what argument? Does it also hold in an non Orthodox context?

Going ahead ... is a Whale that is born by a Cow (kosher) abele to bypass that.

(BTW: this is a JEWISCH Question)

  • At a narrow entrance to a harbour or marina. Who should give way?

That is a boat question. I know that in a narrow channel you keep starboard, but who has right of way? the incomming or outgoing ship? Or is it still the question of starboard and backbord track?

  • What does make managment listen ?

(This is serious, no jokes please)

Assume an organisation that is not run by "financial" constrains, is considered a small shop, has its core business (work) out sourced and does only the “management”. Commitment to follow architecture is not good and no points of excellence exist (to small).

What are arguments that make upper management listen up and make them rethink there strategy (or the lack of such) ?

  • How do I post LINKS into the Answeres?

    for example:

    http://maps.google.com.au/maps?f=q&hl=en&q=Spring+...

this should show Spring Street in Melbourne, but if i post that in an answere it comes up short. Even taging it with [url] dosn't do the trick...

The preview displays it correcty but the final version does not.
