Do you only get one try to send someone a friend request on Facebook?
I m new to it, and wanted to send a request to one of my oldest friends. It went nowhere because he wasn t sure it was me - we ve spoken since then and sorted it out - but the add friend button has gone from his page. We can still message each other, and we follow each other on Twitter. Do you only get one try on Facebook? Thanks.

1 AnswerMusic & Music Players6 years agoPlease could a Latin speaker translate this motto?
It's the caption to a picture, which will read in Latin and Welsh: He will play you all the music you want, but you've got to sing along
I tried a translation site and it gave me 'Psallat tibi vis musicam, sed simul cantare habes' - is this right?
Thank you to everyone who answers.
1 AnswerLanguages7 years agoPlease could a Latin speaker translate this?
I know there's no direct translation, but which Latin phrase best expresses 'Don't knock it till you've tried it'?

I know they've just about finished the new series in America, but does anyone know when it's going to be shown over here?
Thanks.
3 AnswersDrama8 years agoCan anyone tell me, would a photographer have an agent?
It's for a story. One of the characters is a photographer, successful enough to make a reasonable living at it. A second character needs to to know pretty much everything about (and have a degree of control over) the photographer's professional life but not be his partner so I was wondering: would a good pro photographer have an agent? He's already got a booker, but it needs to be someone who can travel.
Bit of an odd question, I know, but thanks to everyone who answers!
4 AnswersPhotography9 years agoPlease could a Dutch speaker translate these phrases?
Could a helpful person translate the following please? They're for a story involving a Dutch tourist in New York.
'Do you know where you are?'
'Still in New York, I hope.'
'Yes, also in -' (the character is interrupted here)
Many thanks to everyone who answers!
4 AnswersLanguages9 years agoPlease could an Italian speaker translate this phrase?
Could a helpful person please tell me how to say 'thank you so much, please come back and see us again one day' in Italian?
I was at an event at the weekend, one of the guests was Italian, I had a wonderful time and I want to thank him in his own language.

4 AnswersLanguages10 years agoHas MAD magazine ever done a CSI spoof?
I've been buying it since the mid-80s, but after the British edition closed I've had some trouble getting every issue, so I was wondering; did they do one and I missed it, or have they not mined the rich seam of CSI yet? (Don't get me wrong, I love CSI, but I'd also love to see Messrs. Drucker and DiBartolo loose on it!)

Or 'Watch out!', or a similar warning to someone?

5 AnswersLanguages10 years agoExperts on Norse mythology needed - can anyone help?
Does anyone know what the attitude of Norse children to the gods was - if a child (with parents) met a man and was privately convinced he was one of the gods in human form, what would the child's attitude have been? Would it have been dumbstruck awe, or were the gods seen as more sociable? Or would it depend on the status of the child's parents?
I know it's a bit of an odd question, (it's potentially for a story - a child meets someone and is privately convinced he is Baldur - if it wouldn't work it can be rewritten,) but thanks to anyone who answers!
3 AnswersMythology & Folklore10 years agoDo electric stun guns leave marks on clothes?
It's for a story I'm writing - would a character be able to tell that a stun gun had been used on another character by burn marks on his clothes or skin? There's a plot point that might hinge on whether he can or not. (The stunned character doesn't remember because of something else that happened.)
Bit of an odd question, but thanks to anyone who answers!
6 AnswersLaw Enforcement & Police10 years agoCould someone help with a little Welsh translation please?
Could someone please tell me how to say 'whatever the cost' in Welsh? The context is as in 'I have to do this, whatever the cost'
Many thanks!
3 AnswersLanguages1 decade agoEx-pat question: can anyone in or around Miami help with this one please?
I know this sounds truly random, but is there a British ex-pat community in Miami and if so, roughly what is the size of it?

1 AnswerMiami1 decade agoDoes anyone know why E4 have stopped showing 'How I Met Your Mother'?
We've had the first ten or so episodes of the new season, and suddenly they've taken it off and are showing Glory Daze instead. Anyone know why?
I'll miss it if they've cancelled it altogether - it's one of the (very) few programmes I like at the minute.

1 AnswerComedy1 decade agoAt what point did the Roman praenomen stop being limited to the original list of twelve?
Obviously the rise of Christianity contributed to the rise of names like John, but the Byzantine emperor Justinian's praenomen was Flavius - when did they stop being limited to the previous list of twelve? The Byzantines still considered themselves at that point to be Roman - Diocletian's praenomen was Gaius, which was on the original list.
