  • Is there someone knowledgeable about back pain on here who can help me?

I think it was a few years ago that I hurt my back lifting up a large heavy bucket of water. It felt better for a while and then it would start hurting when I would bend down to do yard work and stuff. It would feel numb. Then last year or so the pain has started getting worse. It hurts most of the time anymore. I tried to do exercises and stretches but it makes the pain worse. Should I keep doing them? Will they eventually help my back or is it doing more damage to it? I haven't told my doctor about it because my mom has had back pain a long time and hasn't done anything about it. So I don't know if it is worth discussing with a doctor. Is there something a doctor could do or should I just try to get used to it? I am worried as the pain gets worse my parents will find out. I don't want them to know because they depend on me for things and they might think I can't help them if they knew. I was planting some flowers for them the other day and was miserable. I kept praying for help getting through the pain to finish. What do you suggest I do?

  • Does anyone know about asbestos?

What does it look like? There was an old oven in the basement that my parents gave to my grandparents many years ago. My sister and I were taking it apart so we could carry it outside to get rid of it. And there was a bunch of white cottony looking insulation in it. I am worried it might be asbestos and my sister and I and our pets breathed around it. Does anyone know if they used to put asbestos in ovens?

  • I need help asap. Has anyone ordered contact lenses from visiondirect.com? Are they a good company?

My contacts are for a year and I have worn them too long because of my money situation. Today one of them tore in half so I need to order some immediately. They are too expensive through my eye doctor. I am wearing only one contact so it is hard to see properly. Do they ship quickly?

  • Has anybody sold or seen plants for sale at craft shows?

I have started a new hobby growing African Violets and am starting leaves to grow. I was thinking to possibly sell some next year at a craft show if I have a lot growing. Do you think it would be okay to sell plants at a craft show? I haven't seen any at craft shows around me but I have seen people selling food items so it isn't just craft items. What are your opinions about this?

  • What cage do you recommend for one or two parakeets?

I'm not sure if I can get any yet but I'm trying to find out things for them. Is it better to have one or two parakeets? Are boys or girls more loving? When they fly around the room do they go potty all over?

  • What fish can I have in a 10 gallon fish tank?

My betta fish died so I was thinking of getting some other kinds of fish. I know there aren't many that can go in such a small tank. I used to have a website bookmarked from a few years ago that told different fish that could be in a 10 gallon tank but my hard drive was ruined so it was erased and I can't find the website now. Does anyone know of a website like that? I like guppies. Would they work? Thank you for your help.

  • Why would veterinarians be allowed to put perfectly healthy animals to sleep for an owner?

I am very disturbed that they would actually put healthy animals to sleep because the owners want them put to sleep. I just can't believe they would do that. It isn't the same as a shelter doing that to unwanted animals. Vets are supposed to be for caring for animals and saving their lives. I am very angry.

One of my fb friends has an illness that is going to kill her eventually, sadly and I found out that she brought her two young cats to be put to sleep because she didn't think anyone else could care for them like her and she wasn't able to care for them anymore. One wasn't even a year old I don't think. They were so adorable and loving and I am heartbroken about it. I feel it is the most selfish thing I ever heard of. I can't get it out of my mind. Please don't do this to your babies. They deserve to live their lives.

My guinea pig has a lump on his leg. Does anyone have experience about this?

He is five years old so I am worried it might not be safe for him to have surgery. Do you think it should be removed? Years ago I had a guinea pig about that age who had surgery on a tumor by his nipple and was okay. But it took him a while to wake up after his surgery. So I don't know what I should do. I have been watching it. It bled some but it isn't any more. Unfortunately I have to wait until next month to go to the vet but since it doesn't seem to be an emergency I think it will be okay. This month is bad for money or I would have rushed him there. He is able to walk okay but I don't know if he is in pain. Has anybody had a guinea pig who didn't have surgery for a lump? Was he okay with it left there?

  • Do kittens that grow up together always stay close to each other?

My kittens are seven months old now and are very close and loving to each other. Do they usually stay best friends their whole lives or do they grow apart when they get older? They are two girls and two boys.

  • Does this sound like something could be wrong with my thyroid?

I have had hypothyroidism for a while. The last year or so I have a strange feeling in my throat like something is pushing on it. Sometimes it makes me feel like I need to vomit. I also occasionally get a sore throat that doesn't last long, and sometimes I feel like my throat closes up and have trouble swallowing my pills. Every so often I feel like I'm not getting enough air and have to take big breaths. I mentioned some things to my doctor last year but she didn't seem concerned or say anything about my thyroid. She always feels my thyroid when I go there though and hasn't noticed anything wrong with it. I am worried about what might be wrong with me. I hate feeling like this. I have tried looking up my symptoms but I can't find anything that it might be. Has this happened to anybody else who can help me know what is wrong? Thank you for any help.

  • Does anyone here have an emotional support animal?

Where are you able to take him/her? I was thinking about one of my pets being an emotional support animal for me to help me with my social anxiety when I have to go certain places I'm not used to. I will have to go for an eye exam soon and I am dreading it. I was shaky and very nervous and afraid the last time I went. I was hoping I can bring one of my dogs or a kitten with me on the bus and to the doctor but I don't know much about emotional support animals and where they are allowed. How do you go about having an ESA?
