  • HD signal help before I buy a HDTV?

I'll be getting an HDTV and I have cable. I know I need to get a different cable box from my cable company to receive the HD signal. When I turn to the HD channels, do I need an HDMI cable or will I still get HD signal through my normal coaxial cable? Is the coax. cable sufficient to get the HD signal to my tv and HDMI just better, or do I need HDMI to get an HD signal to my tv?

Also, I will be getting 720p resolution. Is that something I need to tell my cable company or is their signal all encompassing for 720 and 1080?

  • Kittens have loose stool again?

I have 2 10-week old kittens. When they were 8wks old we took them to the vet b/c they had runny poop that had a little blood in it. She wormed them and gave them clavamox (my male kitty sneezed a few times and we wanted to make sure there were no URI problems). Anyway after a couple days their poop got better.

Then we noticed on Saturday that their poop was getting soft again and by Sunday it was runny. We just gave them their second round of wormer (pyrantel) yesterday (Sunday)and they still have the runs. Unlike last time it has no blood or funny color.

I have Albon and was wondering if I should just put them on a 10 day regiment of it or try to wait a couple more days to see if the stool improves.

They are due back at the vet in a week and a half and I really don't want to have to take them in before that. I've tried adding fibercil into their food for fiber but there is no change.

  • how quickly does sweetfeed spoil?

I have a super coupon to buy 2 50lb bags of sweetfeed, but I only have one filly. How quickly would the feed go bad? I'm in Iowa and while it is freezing now, I know it will get warm soon. I don't want to buy the bags if they'll go bad before I can use them!

  • Halter size?

I want to get a breakaway halter for my 9 month filly. I calculated her weight at 586 lbs. When I look the halter sizes that go by weight it says she needs a size small. It says the yearling size halter fits horses up to 500 lbs. I have a hard time thinking yearling halter would be too small. Are the weights an accurate measurement of what size to buy? Here's the halter I'm looking at, it's ok if it's a little big now but I want to be able to use it in a month or two.

  • How tall will my horse be?

I have a 9 month old AQHA filly. She is 13 hands 3 inches now, how tall would you guess she'd be at mature height. I've read the other methods, but haven't tried them yet. I was just wondering if she sounds big for her age or not. Thanks!

  • When should I give my horse its annual shots?

I have a weanling filly and the only thing she got from the breeder before she left was a distemper vaccine. When should I have the vet come out and give her west nile, flu/rhino and others? Should I wait until it is warmer?

  • Introducing a weanling to a mature herd?

HI. My 9 month old weanling arrives tomorrow and I need to know the best way to introduce her to a herd of 4 mares and one gelding. This will also be the first time she's in a stall all by herself (I have a jolly ball and a hanging ball/treat combo for her to play with). Any suggestions?

  • Which feed is better for a weanling, Strategy or Omolene 300? What do you think about Calf Manna?

Just exploring the feed options. I've been to all the web-sites but want to know from actual users what y'all like. Coat quality is really important to me as well. Thanks so much!

  • 9 month old filly nutrition. What to feed?

I just bought a 9 month old filly and want to give her the best nutrition possible. The breeder said to put her on Calf Manna for a little while. I want to explore what supplements and feeds would be best for her now and when she is a yearling. I really want a shiny coat too (she is a true blue roan). Any suggestions or links to sites would be great. Thanks!
